Shaun Jarvis April 2021 bmx edit

Freestyle Now co founder and squadron leader Shaun Jarvis has been riding BMX for 40 years and he is not slowing down just yet at 52 years of age. In April he attended many different locations with Freestyle Now hosting coaching sessions and skatepark competitions. The premise behind the video was to get clips at as many of the locations as possible that Freestyle Now visited. In some cases there was not much time to plan its was simply ride and film. Shaun explains “For me riding is an organic process, nothing should be forced, just let it flow. It was a lot of fun filming the clips. Looking at the spot and thinking how can I interact with what’s here and how does my riding fit with the location. Many of the clips are just freestyled, no set plan just as it flowed out. Some took longer than should have and some were a one and done. Over all I’m stoked on the clips, I pushed myself a bit more than normal, took some heavy slams and the outcome is some great memories. Big massive thanks to Kareece Furneyvall and Amos Hadad for their filming, really appreciate it. Stay rad”

South West skatepark safari 2020

Be sure to give the Josh Garwood section a watch and feel the pain of the journey to achieve the goal of accomplishment. Bmx riding is always fun when you travel to ride with friends.

Freestyle Now north west Australia skatepark coaching sessions tour 2017

The Freestyle Now North West skatepark coaching sessions tour was five days of good times and great skatepark coaching sessions. In February Freestyle Now squad members Shaun Jarvis, Ben Thomas and Mitch Harris flew into Paraburdoo and got ready for the 4 hour drive to Onslow. Onslow had just had a fantastic new skatepark built and their opening day celebrations taking place and what better way to help celebrate than by having some skatepark coaching workshop sessions taking place. Thursday afternoon was the first low key session with the official opening taking place on the Friday. During this session Freestyle Now hoisted a few mini competitions and fun activities and gave out some rad prizes. On the Saturday it was a long 5 hour drive inland to Tom Price to host another skatepark coaching workshop session. Again some mini competitions and fun activities took place and the participants at the skatepark all had a great time. On the Sunday Shaun, Ben and Mitch managed to do a bit of sightseeing to Karijini National Park before heading back to Paraburdoo to host another skatepark coaching workshop session. The north west can be forever changing and on this day the weather decided to change rapidly with a sudden downpour of rain and strong winds. It lasted for about 20 minutes but long enough to soak the skatepark, though it did dry out just as the session was ending. On the Monday the squad headed back to Perth for some relaxation time and to escape the heat. Till next time a big thank you to the Shire of Ashburton and to all the skatepark users that got to interact with Shaun, Ben and Mitch. Check the video below of the trip to know what took place and how the radness was rolled out.

Rocky’s final fest skatepark competition 2015

Rocky’s final fest skatepark competition was round 5 of the Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series. This was an invite only competition for advanced bmx, skate and scooter competitors. Freestyle Now set up the portable skatepark in a few hours on the morning of the competition. Competitors had to have competed in the skatepark competitions within the city of Rockingham and Kwinana to earn an invite and some riders were listed as wildcard entries. With all the ramps set in place the weather started to look grim, yes rain was on the way. the competitors managed to get through one round of competition before the rain came, it was brief but heavy. The results were calculated from just the first runs and winners were announced. A massive big thank you to the City of Rockingham for their support for the competition and to the spectators who braved the winterey conditions to come out and watch.
