Brisbane seek and win – week 1 clues

So it’s about half way through the 1st week and now it’s time to throw some clues at ya for the Brisbane seek and win. To the ultimate winner in week one, there will be $500 to spend at Back Bone Bmx thanks to Freestyle Now and Back Bone Bmx as well thanks to Tempered Bikes a set of bars, seat and sprocket.

If you don’t know about the seek and win competition this is the brief rundown. This competition is to assist the riders to get out and explore new ground and find new things to ride. The contest will run from Thursday the 2nd September till Thursday 30th September.

To win this competition you will need to seek out the spot in the photo posted below. You will need to do a trick on, over or with the ledge in the photo. You will need to capture your evidence via photo or video hi or low res it don’t matter (this is bmx not Hollywood). Once you have your evidence email it to Freestyle Now. If you’re the first to submit and you have it right then you’re the winner. If no one has made a claim by 8th September then more of the location’s photo will be revealed for week two. The down side is the prize package will also reduce. (See below). This will continue each of the four weeks until the whole photo has been revealed to show the location.

Andy Fortini’s knowledge quest

Andy Fortini who has been freshly added to the Freestyle Now reserves squad has ventured out to the other side of the globe to Washington D.C. to study teaching. (How rad would it to have Andy as your school teacher). He has finally settled into his accommodation situation after some New York activity. The weather was a bit horrid but as Andy said there has always been plenty to do. From watching the Red Bull Manny Mania skateboard pro competition, at a skatepark under the Manhattan Bridge across from the projects, meeting Elmo, he also got the chance to head to Dah Shop and hang out with Tyrone Williams for a bit. Not far from his residence there is a rad park with pool coping and all. The ride there is a fast one as it’s kinda through a dodgy part of town so the less time spent going through the better. This competition is to assist the riders to get out and explore new ground and find new things to ride. Why stay stale like a meat pie left in the warmer for a week when you could be fresh like grandma’s hot apple pie. Oh yeah.

Freestyle Now has teamed up with Back Bone Bmx and Tempered bikes to give you prizes for your efforts to seek and win. The contest will run from Thursday the 2nd September till Thursday 30th September.

Kie Ashworth and Tim Rose have both been Freestyle Now squad members for many years. They embrace the true essence of Freestyle Now. Fun times and great bmx riding is their specialty. Tim sent through two photos from some trips he and Kie have been on. The top one is from late 2007 while they were escaping Perth to head to Albany for some demos while the bottom one is from when they escaped Los Angeles on their trip to the east coast of America in late 2009.

Both of the guys are in the same position in both photos, yet the top one Tim is driving and the bottom one Kie is driving. The more things change the more things stay the same.

Be on the lookout for both these guys to be hitting up demos over the new few months.

So the time has come for the popular seek and win contest to finally land in Brisbane. After some technical problems with the previous Freestyle Now web site the seek and win contest could not be held, although it did get started. Our apologies to all those riders who were waiting for the next round. So now with every all new and fresh, it’s time to get this contest under way.

So let’s get started.

This competition is to assist the riders to get out and explore new ground and find new things to ride. Why stay stale like the bread on a Coles loading dock when you could be fresh like a hot jam donut.

To win the competition you will need to seek out the spot in the image posted on Thursday 2nd September, do a trick at the spot, and send in your evidence to Freestyle Now via email. This can be either photo or video, high or low res we don’t care. We just want you to seek and win. To the ultimate winner there will be $500 to spend at Back Bone Bmx thanks to Freestyle Now and Back Bone Bmx as well thanks to Tempered Bikes a set of bars, seat and sprocket.

This is how it will work – The competition will run from Thursday the 2nd September till Thursday 30th September. A photo of an undisclosed location has been taken. The main areas have been blacked out to only reveal the obstacle that you will need to find to win. If no one has claimed the win in that week then a new piece of the photo will be exposed. But this will also reduce the prize value. This will continue each of the four weeks until the whole photo has been revealed to show the location.

Some clues to help you out will be given along the way as well.

Shaun wins at DownUnderGround

Squad member Shaun Jarvis had an amazing weekend over in Brisbane attending the finals of the Newcircle Downunderground national flatland contest series. With riding hard every day and shredding at the contest there was fun had by many. Shaun won the competition by only a few points and by doing so took out the year end title of the series. Congratulations. Be on the lookout for Shaun at the upcoming Freestyle Now shows that are coming up over the next few months. The first show being at the Gingin market day on the 11^th September

Squad member Shaun Jarvis has been riding hard lately leading up to the finals of the Newcircle DownUnderGround national flatland contest series that will be taking place this Saturday 28^th August on the beach front in Redcliffe Queensland.

Shaun is currently at the top of the points and has a good chance to win the year end title for the Middies class. Freestyle Now wishes him all the best of luck at the competition.

Tim’s Sunday experience

Squad member Tim Rose had a great experience on Sunday.

“I snapped my fork riding Ballajura skatepark on Sunday. I had a pretty wild crash but came out without a scratch. I went to Royal bmx and bolted on a set of Odyssey race forks and was good to go again. Mad thanks to Ben at Royal. I emailed this from my iPhone how sick is that!!

Freestyle now reserves rider Andy Fortini has just jetted off to the other side of the world to Washington D.C for a semester of studying. His plan is then to hit up Austin Texas and hang there for a while. Expect to see some great updates on his travels along with some great photos from Andy.
