Behind The Bars

Behind the Bars was a community television show produced by Freestyle Now. It was broadcast on community television in 2001 and 2002 in the Perth region. The 9 shows produced focused on the bmx scene in Perth Western Australia. A new episode was broadcast every month, so filming, editing and producing the shows was an extremely timed task.
Having no video production skills and no computer skills but only armed with the will to produce the task was set to produce a television show. The learning curve rose sharply with each new episode. With each new episode new ideas came and we began to feel more comfortable in front and behind the camera.
The production of Behind the Bars is a great example that if you have a set goal you can achieve anything. The only thing holding you back from accomplishing your goals is your own power to achieve
If you were lucky enough to get the show on VHS you were a diehard fan or just very lucky as not many copies were made. So after having Behind the Bars locked away for 10 years it was time to unleash them again to the world via the internet.
We have been releasing an episode a month until all episodes will finally be viewable.
