On Thursday Freestyle now traveled up to Geraldton for some coaching and to host a comp at the Geraldton skatepark. Squad Members Shaun Jarvis and Tim Rose were on hand for the formal duties while Dylan Schmidt and tag a long Ryan Griffiths came along for some adventure.

The coaching session saw a lot of participants indulging in the coaching workshop with a lot of shabby bikes being ridden and in need of fixing. Once minor adjustments were done to several bikes the locals really got into the sessions with Tim and Shaun passing on valuable skill knowledge.

Thursday night saw a productive street session go down with the locals showing the squad some worthy street spots until Dylan got a session ending blow out. It was back to the PCYC were we were staying for some balcony jumping action. Thanks to Jill at the Geraldton PCYC for the hospitality

The Streets in Gero are full of spots and jumping into mattresses is hella fun

The competition on Friday was awesome with the locals having some great fun. Riders from all over were in attendance. Most notable was Alex Moore from Carnarvon. He was definitely in form till he snapped his shin in three places on a 360 backy. A wall ride was built thanks to Brad Beven. He has since moved from Gero to Perth and drove back to Gero on Thursday night just to ride the comp.

The Dud class saw some really good up and comers with Dylan MacDonald busting out some mad 360 x ups. In the Stud class the competition heated up in the finals with Perth rider Ryan Griffiths qualifying in first place. It was local rider Daniel McKay who showed true form and battled his way from 3rd to claim the first place in the finals.

A mad shout out goes to Jill and staff at the Geraldton PCYC for getting the local Geraldton riders hooked up with the comp and coaching. Also props out to Bevan at Bike Force in Geraldton for supporting the comp with product for prizes.
