DownUnderGround Round 2

Last weekend round 2 of DownUnderGround national flatland bmx contest went down in Sydney to a large turnout. Squad members Shaun Jarvis and Andrew McDermott made the trek to Sydney to hang out with friends and to compete in the national contest series.

With the weather really bad and rain pouring down it was almost a non event. Although the contest site was undercover it was not entirely water proof. The rain stopped long enough for the site to dry up to run the comp, but just before the finals the clouds let it go and water was ordered to ruin the finals.

Andrew rode good in his first run but didn’t keep it together in his second run. A satisfying 7th place from 7 riders in the advanced class with only 14 points behind 6th place. Shaun didn’t ride as well as he had hoped to but as he had been helping to organize the event it didn’t t leave much time to practice before the comp. A 4th place out of 10 riders in the middies class was Shaun’s result. More than he thought he was going to achieve and only 10 points behind 3rd place.

Freestyle Now congratulates both squad members Shaun and Andrew for their great efforts representing Freestyle Now on a national level.
