Over the past year Freestyle Now has been managing skatepark competitions for the City of Rockingham. These competitions have formed the Rocky’s Skate, Scoot and Bike series as well as being included in the F.N.W.A.S.S. (Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series). Now after five skatepark competitions throughout the City of Rockingham the finals will be held. This finals competition will be invite only. Competitors who have placed in the top of the advanced class in skateboard, scooter and bmx have been invited to attend as well as a few wildcard entry’s.
Taking place on Sunday the 2nd of June the competition will take place on a purpose build skatepark, taking place at the Rockingham Netball Courts, Dixon Road in Rockingham. After the competition there will be free ride time for others wanting to ride the course (safety gear is a must for all) as well as concert going down after the competition featuring local bands Kids With Wolves, DJ Random Beatz, Bears and Dolls, 10 Past 6 and The Haptics.
The whole day starts around 10am with official practice for competitors and the competition is set to roll out at 12noon. The concert is set to kick off at 5pm. If you’re in the area head on down, ride something different and listen to some local music.
