The Freestyle Now team brought the stoke to Bassendean Skatepark on the 25th of February 2024 for another thrilling competition. Despite the rain, the dedicated competitors who braved the elements made it an unforgettable day. We extend a huge thank you to the Town of Bassendean for their support in making this event possible.
The Scooter Intermediate division saw CJ Morrison claim the top spot with an impressive run. Josh Atkinson secured second place, showcasing some solid skills, amazing to see Freja Iburg rounding out the top three, it would be great to see them at competitions in the future and her consistency is commendable.
In the Scooter Open category, Hayden Brewer took first place with his consistent and stylish tricks. Josh Schnierer came in second, delivering a clean and technical run, and Ian Tsuzuki Botta snagged third, demonstrating his versatile riding abilities across multiple disciplines.
The Skateboard Open division was won by Ian Tsuzuki Botta, the only skateboard competitor on this day who put on a stellar performance, proving once again why he’s a force to be reckoned with in the skateboarding scene.
BMX Beginners had Timothy taking first place with an impressive display of determination and skill. Jaxon Baker followed closely in second place, and Gavin Penny claimed third, making it a tight competition.
In the BMX Open division, Ryan Aquilina emerged victorious, showcasing his exceptional riding skills. Joshua O’Neil came in second, pushing the competition to new heights, and Nathan Wilson rounded out the top three with a strong performance.
Fantastic to see Lachlan Mcgough competing in the BMX beginners showcasing his skills and leveling up, alongside his dad Gerard Mcgough who made his debut and competed in the open division.
A big shoutout to all the competitors who came out and gave it their all, despite the less-than-ideal weather. Your dedication and passion for action sports are what make these events so special.
