Freestyle Now recently hosted an exhilarating skatepark competition at Port Kennedy Skatepark as part of the Round 3 South Metro Ride and Roll Skatepark Series. The event was a fantastic showcase of skill and determination, with a strong BMX presence, young scooter riders, and standout performances from skateboarders, including a diverse range of skateboard competitors who shined brightly.

In the Scooter 10-13 Years category, Cruz Domney took first place, followed by Deagan Jowsey in second. The Scooter 14-17 Years division saw Josh Schnierer taking the top spot. In the Scooter Open category, Ian Tsuzuki Botta took first place and has been a regular at our events, putting in the work and it shows, Jordan Kyle Stroinksi followed closely in second.

The Skate 10-13 Years category had young female skaters making waves, with Tayah Payne taking the first place, and Hayley Norris in second, huge congratulations to Hayley for braving her first competition, the crew at Freestyle Now put her worries at rest and helped her to feel comfortable to participate and place in this competition. Blake Jennings topped the Skate 14-17 Years category, really putting on a show, followed by Port Kennedy local Sophia Stahlhut in second and Ryan Barton in third. The Skate Open category saw Zac Cunningham taking first place, with Jye Dodds and Emily Palmer securing second and third places. We really loved seeing the diversity in this division.

BMX riders brought their A-game, with Ryan Capocci winning the BMX 10-13 Years category with the same level of skill we have seen at previous competitions, followed by Dexter Pearce and Aaron Murray. Great to see Oskar Thomas and Jimmy Bowden going head to head in the BMX 14-17 Years division with Oskar taking the win,  Jimmy coming in second and Cooper Bennett rounding out the top three. In the BMX Open category, Joshua O’Neil came out on top, followed by Steven Heuer in second and Kody Strong in third.

The event was a celebration of the vibrant action sports community, with a diverse set of competitors showcasing their skills and pushing their limits. The young scooter riders were particularly impressive, demonstrating their passion and dedication to the sport. The presence of female skateboarders like Tayah Payne and Sophia Stahlhut highlighted the growing inclusivity and diversity in skateboarding.
