Freestyle Now recently completed an exciting and impactful series of community engagement sessions and school presentations in the Moree Plains Shire Council, New South Wales. Led by squad member Shaun Jarvis, along with Victorian BMX riders Cooper Wilson and Brodie Quick, the team visited several schools across the district, including Moree Secondary College, Moree East Primary School, Pallamallawa Primary School, St. Philomena’s School, and Mallawa School.

Clockwise from top left – The level of trust is high as Cooper hops over Shaun – Copper Wilson was on point with his manuls/wheelies and won the challenge at every school stop – Brodie Quick sending a bar hop at St. Philomena’s School – Shaun Jarvis shows his skills to the students at Moree Secondary College with this no handed swivel.

The focus of these sessions was to deliver crucial messages about helmet safety, the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle through riding, and the value of pushing personal boundaries by setting and achieving goals. The Freestyle Now team emphasized how action sports like BMX riding can offer long-term benefits, both mentally and physically, by fostering resilience, confidence, and a sense of accomplishment. At Freestyle Now, we believe in the power of action sports to build confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of community. By reaching out to young riders, we’re helping to ensure a bright future for the sport and the individuals who participate in it. These sessions are more than just about teaching tricks—they’re about empowering the next generation to face challenges head-on, support one another, and grow into strong, confident individuals. In addition to the school visits, the squad also hosted pump track coaching and engagement sessions, providing hands-on advice and encouragement to young riders. These sessions were a hit, especially at the newly reopened Moree BMX track, where the team spent time hanging out and sharing their expertise with local riders. The week concluded with an adrenaline-pumping skatepark demonstration at the Moree Skatepark, where the community gathered to witness incredible stunts and tricks performed by the talented Freestyle Now riders.

The Freestyle Now team would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Moree Plains Shire Council for their support in making these sessions possible. The enthusiasm and warmth of the community made this week-long engagement a truly memorable experience for everyone involved. We look forward to continuing to inspire and empower young people through the positive messages and exciting world of action sports. Stay tuned for more updates and events from Freestyle Now.
