Over the December and January school holidays, Freestyle Now co-founder, CEO, and team rider Shaun Jarvis embarked on an epic journey, visiting 26 different skateparks for coaching sessions. But it wasn’t just about coaching, Shaun set himself a unique challenge. At the end of each session, he aimed to capture a clip or two within a tight 10-minute window. There was no time for do-overs or perfection. If it wasn’t smooth, that was just part of the game. This raw and real approach reflects the true spirit of action sports, where nothing is perfect, and that’s what makes it exciting. The challenge wasn’t easy, especially with the pressure of a busy coaching schedule. To make things even tougher, most days were blisteringly hot, with temperatures soaring above 35°C and even hitting 41°C at some skateparks. In Albany, it was a different challenge with rain, but with a small window of opportunity Shaun managed to squeeze in some riding before heading back to Perth. Shaun has ridden at these skateparks countless times before, but this challenge was about more than just revisiting familiar spots. He didn’t want to repeat old tricks, instead, he aimed to bring a fresh perspective to each location. It was about reimagining possibilities, finding new ways to interact with the skatepark, and pushing his creative boundaries. This approach sparked new ideas and kept things exciting. The result is a raw, authentic video that captures the true essence of riding, unpredictable and full of passion and creativity.
We’re excited to share this new video edit with you all. Give it a watch to see how Shaun tackled the challenge of 26 skateparks in true Freestyle Now style. Keep rolling, keep progressing, and always push your limits!
