Alex Addison – Starting F.R.E.S.H. Facilitator – March 2023
Starting Fresh Batlow and the Resilient Towns Initiative cannot express enough how grateful we are to Freestyle Now for their outstanding contributions to our recent BMX/Scooter Freestyle Stunt Show & Coaching Workshop event. Their professional coaches, Shaun Jarvis, Matty Ceravolo and Cooper Wilson were incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, and enthusiastic, making the event a huge success. The youth who participated in the event were blown away by the amazing skills of the professional athletes and were thrilled to have the opportunity to learn from them. The coaching workshop was a highlight of the event, as it not only taught the basics of BMX and scooter freestyle, but also important life skills such as resilience, perseverance, and determination. Freestyle Now’s dedication to the community and the development of young people is inspiring, and we feel privileged to have had the opportunity to work with them. The positive impact that they have had on the lives of the youth who participated in the event cannot be overstated. We hope to continue to work with Freestyle Now in the future and to provide more opportunities for young people to learn and grow. We highly recommend Freestyle Now to anyone looking to provide high-quality coaching and mentoring to young people in their community. Their commitment, professionalism, and passion for freestyle sports and youth development make them an invaluable asset to any event or program. Thank you, Freestyle Now, for an unforgettable experience!

Grandparent from coaching session via email – April 2022
My grandchildren attended this today. It was fabulous the people running the show have the patience of a saint . They are calm and really connect with the small people they had in front of him despite their varying abilities . They had them activated. Well done what a great event.

Parent from coaching session via email – April 2022
My son attended the event over the weekend at Leeming Skate Park and raved about it. He is normally very shy and does not get involved but Shaun, the guy in charge, was great and was able to get him involved and really enthused. Thank you to all involved – my son is extremely shy but by the end of the event he was participating and quite reluctant to leave the skate park – Shaun was amazing!

Parent from coaching session via email – April 2022
Sarah’s confidence grew so much with the session at Fremantle yesterday. She had a rough term at school, and jumping on a board, taking up a new skill with a positive-vibing crew, was awesome for her. Out for a roll this morning, at her request. Best coaching/mentoring in children’s sports I’ve seen for ages. Rad skills all around. Thanks again

Childhood and Youth Services Team – City of Wanneroo – April 2022
Thank you for your program once again, it really does make a large impact on the local community.

The shows were a great hit, they went down really well! We would definitely consider incorporating the shows into future events, where relevant and possible of course.

Bonnie Manning Claassen – Via Freestyle Now Face Book page – January 2021
Was very lucky to come across the jam session coaching sessions hosted by the City of Stirling at the last minute and managed to book in. Kids had a fantastic time, learnt so much and the coaches were all very friendly, encouraging and patient with the kids. Will definitely try attend some more. Thank you!

Kerryn Haynes – Recreation and Wellbeing Officer – City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder – November 2020
Thanks for a great event, we appreciate your crew coming down and being so flexible with the dates we had available to work with. You all clearly had a great impact on the kids at each session!

Toni Louise Stange – Via Freestyle Now Face Book page – March 2020
We thank the guys coming to Bunbury doing the clinics and teaching the kids new skills. My son loved it!! We appreciate the time, patience and caring nature of these professionals. I know my boy looks up to these guys. But to see so many happy more confident kids having a go is amazing. Wish there was more tome for you so you could do it more often here.

Emma Syme – Youth Development Officer – City of Wanneroo – November 2018
Hi Shaun, Just want to start by saying it was an absolute pleasure working with you in the planning and with Jarrod on the day of our skate park opening event. Thank you so much for making the competition component such a stress free addition to our program.

Tristan Abbott – Dean of Positive Culture Team – Comet Bay College – May 2018
The Freestyle NOW team came to Comet Bay College to present at our Year Group Assemblies, doing both a stunt show and a presentation.  Their presentation tapped into the school’s key message for Term 2, ‘E for Effort’, and the professional BMX, skateboard and scooter riders showcased many impressive skills to students.  Shaun Jarvis did an excellent job of connecting with and engaging our students. We appreciated Freestyle NOW’s flexibility, professionalism and ability to deliver a key school message in a fresh and unique way.  The Freestyle NOW team were also more than willing to talk with students during recess and lunch, and feedback from both staff and students about the event was overwhelmingly positive.  All students left the presentation with the message that working hard, whilst considering others, is the key to achieving dreams.

Chris Eales – Club Development Officer – Shire of Narrogin – April 2018
The event was really good, a  range  of ages and devices and some parent spectators. I think it would be fair to say that everyone had a great time and were engaged from start to end of the event. Your coaches were fantastic with the participants and it was good to see the extra effort extended toward the ones who were a bit shy at the start. Everyone said that it was good, parents and kids alike. It was good to watch too. Thanks again.

Ned Toomey – Skateboard participant at skatepark coaching session – January 2018
I went to the coaching work shop in Lancelin today and I would just like to say THANKYOU for an awesome afternoon I learnt so many new tricks and I cannot wait till next year!

Fiona Stuart – Shire of Kalamunda Recreation Services Officer – April 2017
The Shire of Kalamunda would like to thank you for your assistance in making our Bike Week event in 2017 a huge success. It was really great to have you involved again this year. The Team from Community Development appreciates the fact that you could make the time to include our event on your list this year, and hopes that we can continue this partnership. We look forward to seeing you at more of the Shire’s events in the near future.

Joelle Chaffey – President – Waroona Youth Advisory Council – April 2017
On behalf of Waroona Youth Advisory Council, I would like to thank Freestyle Now for supporting our recent Youth Fest. This was our largest event yet, with over 300 people of all ages and background from Waroona, Hamel, Lake Clifton and Preston Beach coming to the Waroona Skate Park for a free fun filled afternoon. Once again, your skateboard, scooter and BMX demonstrations and competitions were a highlight of the night, engaging kids and parents alike. Youth Fest 2017 was a great display of the positive outcomes and community engagement that can be achieved when the community unites with a common cause. Once again, thank you for supporting our event. We look forward to working with you in the future rolling out the rad.

Jenni and Bob Lowrie – Secretary Ficifolia Festival – February 2017
We would just like to say that we thought that the BMX competition was fantastic inclusion to this year’s festival. The commentator did a marvelous job explaining all the jumps and tricks that the competitors performed, especially to people like us who know nothing about these competitions. Overall we think it was a huge success. Looking forward to next years,

Emma Pegrun – ICEA event organizer – ICEA Foundation – September 2016
We’re glad you had a good time at the event – we were super stoked with how it turned out and are confident that it’s going to continue growing into the future. We will definitely recommend Freestyle Now to other organizations!

Ashlee Groch – Administration Officer Community and Development Services – Town of Port Hedland – March 2016
I just wanted to thank you again for Freestyle Now’s involvement in Port Hedland Bike Week 2016, in particular the BMX/Scooter Interactive Sessions. Having Andy and Ben come up to engage with the youth was absolutely fantastic. They were able to adjust to the different numbers and vibes of the sessions and can be commended on how well they represented Freestyle Now. Ben in particular is definitely a Port Hedland ‘celebrity’ with all the kids.

Michelle Francis – Recreation Services Officer – Shire of Kalamunda – September 2015
Hi Freestyle Now, I just wanted to say a huge thank you for being a huge part of the event. I heard nothing but positive things about your crew!! The kids no doubt had a great time and it was fantastic to watch everything come out to fruition. Warm regards

Marilyn Keys – Local event management – Shire of Kalamunda – May 2015
What a great seamless day the Ramp It Up competition was. Thank you the Freestyle Now team for their work with this group of kids. There was a great vibe all day, no issues. Exactly how it should be. See you next time!

Sue Jackman – Mother of skateboard competitor – Margaret River – May 2015
Thanks again for a great comp on the weekend. The local kids really loved it and it was great for them to have to be so brave and skate all by themselves in front of everyone, good personal development stuff! Quite a few who would never do that kind of thing ended up having a go which was great. Hope you can come down more often, would be great. Flynn has barely taken off the oversize hoodie he won with excitement.

Person attending skatepark competition, Via City of Rockingham email – October 2014
Just a quick email to let your office know how impressed I was of the event that was held at the Singleton Oval today (Thurs, 9th Oct) on Cavendar Street, Singleton.
My three children and I, and my visiting sister-in-law and niece from Perth decided to walk down to the oval to check out the Skatepark event being sponsored by the City of Rockingham.  Not only was I impressed by the scooter and skateboard riders showing off their wonderful tricks but the overall running of the event was just fantastic.  I have never attended one of these events before so I wasn’t too sure as to what to expect.  I was surprised to see a First Aid post, a sausage sizzle stand, public conveniences, a photographer, mobile speakers playing music and by which we were able to hear the introductions and comments by the three fantastic, enthusiastic and encouraging men who were running the show.
We only stayed for about 90 minutes and in that time I cannot impress upon you the professionalism of the event.  The music was played at a level as to not upset the nearby neighbours, rules of respect were explained and the behavior of the children attending the event and their family members was something to be very proud of.
So a big thank you to the City of Rockingham for a fantastic event.  I am sure the participants are of the same opinion.  If you could pass on my comments to the gentlemen who organized, commentated and judged the Singleton Skate Park event today that would be greatly appreciated.

Tara Prowse – Creative producer – Community participation – Melbourne Federation Square – June 2014
Thank you so much for organizing the standout performance on Saturday night. Those guys were amazing and were one of the most commented on events of the night. Please thank the riders, we would love to have them back again for future events. Thank you again for the professionalism and talent of your riders and for organizing things so smoothly.

Jillian Bourke – Manager – Geraldton PCYC – June 2014
Big shout-out to Shaun and all his amazing crew at FREESTYLE NOW! Freestyle Now has been running comps for Geraldton PCYC at the Wonthella skate park for about 6 years now. Shaun, Kim and all the Freestyle Now crew are extremely professional and PCYC has nothing but praise for their Skate, Scooter and Freestyle BMX competitions. The comp turnout is always big and the atmosphere even bigger! Freestyle Now are easy going, well organized, very affordable and definitely know how to engage young people!

Bianca Zanetti – Youth community development officer – City of  Armadale – April 2014
Thanks so much to you and the guys for being involved in the school expo’s this week, I appreciate all the extra work you all did to get the ramps set up as well as putting on an awesome show!

Hayley Bullimore – Environmental Education Officer – Canning River Eco Education Centre – August 2013
We really enjoyed having your team here, got lots of great feedback from people generally. Thanks so much for your flexibility with set up also. It is something we will consider next year subject to grant funding as it is a great draw card for the teenage age bracket.

Rhonda Sullivan – Toodyay Moondyne Festival Committee – May 2013
Thanks Shaun. We have heard nothing but positive feedback from Freestyle Now performances and coaching clinics at the skate park. Hoping we can duplicate the success and also to build on it for our 2014 Festival.

Caroline Kelly – Promotions Executive – Brisbane Racing Club – August 2012
Yes all the feedback from the show was great. The team felt that it really added to the overall feel of the event. From my point of view I found you and your team very professional and easy to work with and very accommodating with our requests to help out with publicity and opportunities beyond the event day itself. Thanks very much for your assistance Shaun, it was great working with you.

Sally Savage – Community Youth Development Officer – Shire of Morawa – August 2012
Thanks again to you and the guys for coming out to Morawa on Sunday for our Dardy Day Out. The event really was a great success and it’s good to hear so much positive feedback going around the town today. It certainly was a highlight to have Freestyle Now there to show the kids what can be achieved if they work hard.”

Michelle Campbell – Boredom Busters Project – Lot 208 Youth Inc – February 2012
Hi Shaun. Just s quick note to say thank you once again for the recent coaching workshops you delivered.  I have received some fantastic supportive comments from participants and parents with positive acknowledgements.  Most letters commented highly on you and the boys, with a couple particularly making mention of Phil Marshall.  They are of course asking when the next workshops will be. I have received many accolades for the workshops but little do they know that your professionalism and high level of delivery makes my job so easy!  I am happy to provide any testimonials for you.

Thomas Heidt – Parent of skatepark participant – January 2012
I just would like to send you a big THANK YOU for organizing the Freestyle Now workshop on the local Skate Park. My youngest son Nigel participated in it, as did many of his friends, and the joy those kids received from this was indescribable. Also sadly not able to attend the event myself, I listened to my son and his friends for days talking about that morning. The excitement and camaraderie which was generated through a relative small event like this is enormous. I also witnessed that it gave the younger kids an opportunity to connect to the older ones which as a parent is nice to know. I and my wife (and I take the liberty to also speak for a lot of the other parents from the ‘Skate Park kids’) truly hope that there will be many more events like this to come in the not so far future.

Sarah Astbury – Rural Youth Worker – Mt Isa Police-Citizens Youth Clubs – September 2011
Hi Shaun and crew. Everyone I have spoken to was again very happy with your workshop and competition. It is great to see the skate park come to life with positive and fun events such as yours. Donovan Pill – Inner South Community Health Service – Kombiz Youth Network – December 2010
Hi Shaun, Just wanted to let you know that the guys were excellent! They gave 110% and put on a fantastic show for the crowd.  We were even lucky enough to have clear skies all afternoon despite the forecast. Was great having them and would not hesitate to rebook for any future events. Thanks again. Cheers

Mary Silverman – Narrogin Community Development Officer – April 2010

Teresa Berry – Executive Officer – Canning agricultural society – November 2009
I write on behalf of the committee of management of the society to express appreciation of your involvement during this year’s show. A tremendous amount of time if it goes into the planning and organisation of the Canning Show and it is of a great help when demonstrations such as yours have a common interests of providing the people of our community with an interesting and entertaining event.

Tania van Burgel – Youth Services Co-ordinator – City of Kwinana – November 2009
The Kwinana Youth Services Team would personally like to take this opportunity to sincerely Thank You for your time and effort in assisting with this year’s Kwinana Freakfest. Freakfest 2009 was a unique opportunity to celebrate the diverse youth culture that exists within Kwinana. With your help we were able to provide meaningful activities for young people to increase their sense of community connectedness through preparation and delivery of Freakfest and the Kwinana Festival. We are already turning our thoughts to Kwinana Festival 2010. Please feel free to provide us with feedback that may help us to plan better for the future. Once again thank you for being part of this very worthwhile event.

Jill Bourke – Geraldton PCYC – October 2009
Thanks SO much for your energy and enthusiasm last week in Geraldton, a very rushed trip, but so worthwhile! I think our young BMX boys are still peaking on the experience of having such a PROFESSIONAL team of guys come to town 2 see them and their tricks!… and 2 just hang out with them and have fun etc.. I thank you and your great team for giving something important to the Geraldton boys. (BMX riders are risk takers in more ways than one). I think your visit has empowered Geraldton’s bmxers and given them some much needed confidence and belief in their passion. I am totally impressed with freestyle now. Let’s do it again SOON! Love the pics on your site! Thanks heaps, you and your crew have made my day.

J.G Epia – Chief Executive officer – Shire of Leonora – June 2009
On behalf of the Shire of Leonora and community members, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your fantastic entertainment and skateboarding workshops you provided over the Golden Gift Weekend. I have received nothing but positive feedback from the weekend and thank you for making the trip to Leonora. Look forward to working with you in the future.

Nicola Muir – Youth projects officer – City of Joondalup – February 2009
The City of Joondalup would like to thank you for doing such a fantastic job in planning, coordinating and delivering the Kinross BMX skate scooter and blade competition which was held on February 14th 2009. The event was a great success recording 60 competitors and approximately 400 spectators on the day. It was great to see if positive use of the skatepark facility and the community getting behind events for young people in the area. The city really appreciates the calm and professional manner in which you handled the larger than expected numbers of young people on the day. Your support in delivering a safe and enjoyable event is much appreciated and we look forward to working with you in the future

Peta Zadow – Grounds Steward Kojonup agricultural society – October 2008
Shaun, I would just like to thank you and your team for the great show you put on at the Kojonup Show, we had many people making positive comments re the performances.  I would also like to thank you very much for the professionalism shown by yourself, especially in making sure the horse people were aware and informed as to your activities.  We had a very unpleasant experience in 2007 with motorbike stunt riders, so I was especially pleased and relieved to discover that you had already sort out and informed individual riders close by, and the Horse Office committee were aware of the programme, your consideration was much appreciated, many thanks.

Rebecca Metcalf – North Midlands agricultural society – September 2008
Thank you so much for coming to our show at Carnamah. We appreciate the effort it takes and how far you traveled. The shows were fantastic and definitely gave the barflys something interesting to watch. The day seemed to run very well particularly with the weather as it looked a bit threatening in the morning. I think we catered to most age groups and the different show events and features seem to come together really well this year. The entertainment committee really tried to include a number of different features aimed at that teenage bracket with the Xbox challenge, Freestyle Now BMX stunt show and the Sizzler ride the teens had a great day.

Heather Hatch – Chairperson friends of Lancelin Coast Incorporated – March 2008
On behalf of the friends of Lancelin Coast we would like to thank you for your contribution towards the success of the Lancelin coastal day and lobster festival. The festival was once again a great success and enjoyed by all that attended.

Anita McIntyre – Youth services City of Joondalup – March 2006
As for feedback, I am really happy with the way you co-ordinate things. The announcements you did were really good, and I greatly appreciated how you consistently thanked the City of Joondalup and informed participants of other things like the Snow Cones, or Joondalup Festival or other comps etc…..  I think the running of the comps were good as they ran smoothly. I guess you can’t really decide how they should run until the day when you know how many are registering…. You’re flexible so that works great. Prizes were also good, and I believe the young people appreciated them as well. Your choice of music was good, there were no inappropriate language in the words that I heard anyway. So thank you.  Overall, I am happy with the service you provided and look forward to working with you in the future.

Pam Frew – Business Development Officer Curtin VTEC – November 2005
Hi Shaun, Feedback Coming Up!! I know that Josh Brind hasn’t been able to take his winning grin off his face since your fantastic competition & show at Kinsbury Park. Radio West jocks were also impressed with your level of organization. A number of Curtin Staff, including the Director and different lecturers commented on your positive approach to announcing and obvious enthusiasm for the kids and the activity. Big tick here. Natalie Ord from the Kalgoorlie Boulder Council wanted me to pass on her appreciation for your participation which she was also pretty impressed with.  Her comments will be passed onto local councilors. I still can’t believe what impeccable timing your phone call was to Council then to us at Curtin in October. Here I was thinking we could do it ourselves!!!  Wrong. So Shaun, if Curtin does it all again next year, I do hope you and your team are available, to come and impress me and everyone else in the Goldfields once more. My sincere thanks and best wishes to you and the lads.
