Freestyle Now brought the heat to the Geraldton Sunshine Festival, turning up the excitement with mind-blowing BMX stunt shows that left the crowds in awe. Freestyle Now’s elite riders, Shaun Jarvis, Luke Tooze, and Taj Hamilton invited the talented Sam Grace to join them for an unforgettable performance. The festival atmosphere was electric as Freestyle Now squad members showcased their exceptional BMX skills against the stunning backdrop of the ocean. The perfect conditions added an extra layer of intensity to the already exhilarating bmx stunt show. The Freestyle Now riders pulled out all the stops at the The Geraldton Sunshine Festival, executing gravity-defying stunts and jaw-dropping tricks that had the crowds on their feet. The interactive and enthusiastic audience made each BMX stunt show a memorable experience. Shaun Jarvis, known for his precision and style, alongside Luke Tooze and Taj Hamilton, brought their A-game to the festival. The addition of Sam Grace elevated the performance, creating a dynamic and diverse showcase of BMX talent. The festival setup, right next to the ocean, provided a scenic backdrop that enhanced the overall experience. 2023 DownUnderGround Australian BMX flatland video contest

The 2023 DownUnderGround, the Australian BMX flatland championships video round is complete. Riders from around Australia spent hours riding one of the hardest forms of BMX freestyle, flatland BMX, and gaining clips to submit for the DownUnderGround 15 video round. Riders could submit multiple clips in their video up to 2 ½ minutes. It’s great to see the riders putting time in and supporting BMX flatland by entering and being involved. Congratulations to Gonzalo Bellanti for taking the win and pushing his progression his clips are definitely worth watching a few times. Freestyle Now squad members Paul Chamberlain took the 2nd place while Shaun Jarvis had a respectable 5th place. Congratulations to all the riders.

It was great to have the commentary from our judges, Joe Cicman, James McGraw and Jon Dowker as well as Paul Chamberlain and organizer Shaun Jarvis. Their comments are both a valuable insight and comedic relief for the world’s longest running BMX flatland video contest.

Freestyle Now Ignites Excitement at Singleton Skatepark Showdown

The Singleton Skatepark was on fire as Freestyle Now hosted a sensational skatepark competition, and it was a massive shoutout to the City of Rockingham for making it all happen. The scooter, skateboard, BMX, and rollerskate categories were packed with talent, turning the skatepark into a battleground of epic tricks and stunts. With a fantastic turnout of competitors, the local scene showed up in force, creating an electric atmosphere that echoed with cheers and high-fives. Thanks to the City of Rockingham’s support, this event became a highlight on the local calendar, fostering a sense of community and celebration of action sports. Every competitor left with smiles and prizes, making it a win-win for everyone involved. But amidst the sea of talent, one standout stole the spotlight – Dave Baker, a 44-year-old BMX enthusiast, entered his very first skatepark competition. Dave shredded the park with style, showcasing the skills he honed in the Freestyle Now coaching sessions.

It’s moments like these that make competitions special – the triumph of newcomers, the community spirit, and the sheer joy of pushing personal boundaries. Freestyle Now’s Outback BMX Adventure: Coaching, Demonstrations, and Radness Unleashed

Freestyle Now’s squad members Shaun JarvisLuke Tooze and Taj Hamilton headed to the outback town of Laverton for an unforgettable BMX journey, igniting the outback with an epic airbag jumping coaching session and thrilling demonstrations. The community engagement was phenomenal, with riders of all levels joining in on the excitement.  The heart of this adventure was the BMX coaching session on the Freestyle Now small airbag lander jump. The squad shared their expertise, guiding participants through the art of airbag jumping, helping some overcome their fear of jumping all while also delivering jaw-dropping demonstrations that left the Laverton community in awe. A big thank you to the Laverton Cycling Project and the Cycling Development Foundation as well as the Shire of Laverton for all their support.

Beyond the coaching sessions, the crew explored rad spots in Laverton and Kalgoorlie, discovering hidden gems that showcased the diverse BMX landscape of the outback. From street sessions to off-road exploration, every moment was an opportunity for radness. Shredding it up at the Leonora and Kalgoorlie skateparks added an extra layer of excitement to the journey. A highlight of the trip was the privilege of riding with local legend Corey Smithies, experiencing the super rad setup in his backyard. This not only elevated the riding experience but also strengthened the bonds within the BMX community.

Freestyle Now Delivers Thrilling BMX Stunt Show at Flamefest in Benalla, Victoria

The crowds were large at the Benalla Flamefest and got super loud especially for this backflip by Cooper Wilson.

Freestyle Now, Australia’s premier BMX stunt show team, brought the heat to Flamefest in Benalla, Victoria, with an unforgettable  BMX stunt show that defied the wet and muddy conditions. The event featured a stellar lineup of BMX riders, including the remarkable  Shaun Jarvis, the reigning Victorian BMX freestyle champion Cooper Wilson, Columbian BMX sensation Robin Meza, and the legendary Andrew Ahumada. In the days leading up to Flamefest there was lots of rain which made the ground conditions at the Benalla racing track very soft and muddy.  But despite the challenging conditions Freestyle Now’s BMX riders were determined to deliver an electrifying performance. With muddy ramps and no rain but wet grounds, the stage was set for a unique and thrilling show that would leave the crowd in awe.

Shaun Jarvis, known for his precision and style, led the charge, performing some  crazy balancing trick on the top of the ramp. One slip would result in a long drop to the ground, with slippery surfaces the level of danger was intensified. Cooper Wilson, the reigning champion, showcased his exceptional riding skills and fearlessness in the face of adversity, even collecting some mud in his eye that flung off his front wheel in the mid air. Columbian BMX rider Robin Meza added an international flair to the show with his unique style, and BMX legend Andrew Ahumada demonstrated his unmatched expertise in challenging conditions. The enthusiastic crowd at Flamefest braved the muddy and cold conditions to witness the heart-pounding performance. Their energy and excitement were noticeable, providing the perfect backdrop for the riders to push their limits and wow the audience with their daring feats. In addition to the BMX stunt show, Flamefest also featured a captivating fire show that added to the overall spectacle of the event along with some great food trucks. The combination of fire and BMX stunts created a sensory experience that left a lasting impression on all who attended.

Toodyay Skatepark Competition was a Spectacular Showcase of Action Sports Talent

The picturesque town of Toodyay came alive in August as Freestyle Now hosted an exhilarating skatepark competition, coinciding with the Toodyay International Food Festival and the 50th Anniversary of the Avon Descent. This exciting event brought together athletes from various disciplines, including skateboarders, scooter riders, BMX enthusiasts, rollerskaters, and marked the first Inline skate division at a  Freestyle Now competition introducing a new dimension to skatepark competitions.

Set against the backdrop of the Toodyay International Food Festival and the 50th Anniversary of the Avon Descent, the skatepark competition added an extra layer of excitement to the festivities. Spectators were treated to a thrilling display of action sports prowess as riders showcased their skills on wheels, delighting the crowd and leaving them in awe. Despite the cold weather, participants gave it their all, showcasing incredible talent. Scooter riders pushed the boundaries, sending backflips that thrilled the audience with their daring maneuvers. Skateboarders had their moment to shine, demonstrating their technical finesse and style as they confidently showed off their grinds in the Toodyay bowl. BMX riders took the competition to new heights, especially in the open class, where they wowed spectators with gravity-defying flairs and spins that left the crowd gasping in amazement. Roller skaters exhibited their expertise, gracefully carving through the bowl with a blend of skill and style that showcased their mastery of the park’s features. Inline skaters showed off their fancy footwork with some amazing grinds, stalls and rail work. The level of crowd engagement was remarkable, with cheers and applause echoing throughout the competition. The spectators’ enthusiasm added an extra layer of energy to the event, creating a vibrant atmosphere that encouraged the athletes to perform their best. Competitors traveled from various locations to be part of this thrilling event, showcasing the widespread appeal of action sports and the passion of the participants. For many, this was the first competition in several years in Toodyay, making the event even more special.
