Round 12 – Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series

The next round of the Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series (F.N.W.A.S.S.) will take place at the Cooloongup skatepark on the 19th of May. Competition registrations kick off at 10am with the skate, scooter and BMX competition getting underway at about 11am. The day should finish up at about 3pm, when the winners and non winners will be announced and prizes will be given out with thanks to our supporters  Stowaway distribution, 4 skateboard co and Mutts scooters as well as the City of Rockingham.  You can download an entry form here.

Round 11 – Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series – Rockingham skatepark

The Rockingham skatepark was the next stop in the Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series on Saturday 21stApril. The Rockingham skatepark is one of the older skateparks in the Perth metro area and is well sessioned by many. The turn out on the day was great with competitors and spectators all getting into the vibe of the day. A big thanks to the City of Rockingham for rocking the support and to our supporters Stowaway distribution, 4 skateboard co and Mutts scooters for the fantastic prizes. Morgan Avery took home a $400 first aid kit from Accidental First Aid for his back to back slams from flipping the spine.

Round 10B – Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series – Willetton skatepark

The Willetton skatepark hosted round 10B of the F.N.W.A.S.S. thanks to the City of Canning. The Willetton skatepark is known for its large scooter base of riders and they came out in force on this day. With two of Western Australia’s top scooter riders Kyle Page and Billy Watts, hitting the comp large. A big thanks you to the City of Canning and to everyone who showed up to cheer and support the competition.

The Daniel Kelly skatepark in Golden Bay hosted round 10A of the Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series on Friday 20th April. Thanks to the City of Rockingham the competition had a lot of locals competing for some fantastic prizes from our supporters Stowaway distribution, 4 skateboard co and Mutts scooters.

Round 9 – Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series – Narrogin skatepark

Narrogin is in the south western wheat belt area of Western Australia. It is a medium size country town with a skatepark that is used nonstop by the local shredders. On the 15th April the skatepark came alive with hip hop workshops, dancing performances, live hip hop performances and as well as round 9 of the Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series. With a great turn out of locals to compete the day was awesome. All of this took place thanks to national youth week, Country Arts Network Western Australia and the Town of Narrogin, as well as our supporters Stowaway distribution, 4 skateboard co and Mutts scooters for all the prizes.

The Perth based 4 Skateboard Co has been supporting Freestyle Now competitions for almost 2 years. With straight up awesome products done to a very high standard it is great to have support from such a rad company. If you’re into skating make sure you check out their product range. Round 8 – Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series – Armadale skatepark

The new Armadale skatepark was the location of the next round of the F.N.W.A.S.S. thanks to the City of Armadale. There was a great beginner turn out as Freestyle Now had been hosting a series of coaching sessions which had all the beginners amped up on showing off their new skills. There were a great number of parents out to show their support which is always a good thing to see. Thanks to the City of Armadale as well as our supporters Stowaway distribution, 4 skateboard co and Mutts scooters for all the prizes.

Round 7 – Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series – High Wycombe skatepark

Easter Saturday the High Wycombe skatepark was full of activity as the Shire of Kalamunda held the “Ramp it up” youth event. Freestyle Now was there on the day to host round 7 of the Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series. The bmx skateboard and scooter competition moved through fast with lots of spectators all there to enjoy a great fun activity and partake in the many other things going on. Thanks to the Shire of Kalamunda as well as our supporters Stowaway distribution, 4 skateboard co and Mutts scooters for all the prizes.

Skatepark Coaching sessions are fun

Over the next few weeks Freestyle Now will be hosting a stack of skatepark coaching workshops for bmx, skateboard and scooters. If you’re keen to come out and have some fun, engage in some skatepark activity, chill with some of the Freestyle Now squad and learn some new skills then get yourself along to some of the sessions. Round 6 – Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series – Capel skatepark

The latest round of the F.N.W.A.S.S. took place at the Capel skatepark on the 1st of April. The competition was part of the Capelfest which saw many other activities and entertainment take place over the day. The competition was in full swing by 10am but so were the dark clouds. With rain being on the menu many people did not like this, and rightly so. Rain and skateparks don’t mix well. With a massive amount of wishful thinking and a few breaks in the clouds everything went well and the competition was a great success. Thanks to the Shire of Capel as well as our supporters Stowaway distribution, 4 skateboard co and Mutts scooters for all the prizes.
