Cooloongup skatepark competition – September 2022

Freestyle Now hosted a skatepark competition at the Cooloongup skatepark thanks to the City of Rockingham. What a super fun event with a good range of participants in skateboard, scooter, rollerskates and BMX out to get rad. For many competitors it was their first time being in a competition and were nervous. Relax and breath and just focus on your riding it the best advice for new comers into competitions, and remember the more competitions you do the more relaxed you get with them. You’re not out to win the competition but out to do the best you can and feel you did a good run. Thank you to all who attended.

Competitions are great to attend to meet new people and see other riders and their styles of riding. Hope to see you at the next competition soon. Be sure to check our coming events page for more information on all of our coming events. A full list of all the competitions that Freestyle Now has hosted can be found on the past competitions page here.

Clockwise from top left – Arya Powell took second in the intermediate skateboard, it had been their first competition entered in over 2 years and they were a little nervous, but just relaxing and breathing through it they had two solid runs – Brendan Taylor took some time off from studying to have a roll at the Cooloongup competition and took the first place in the rollerskating division, it’s always a pleasure to see him skate – Dempesy rode BMX and did radical maneuvers, just like Dempsey does – Sampson Martin was the only scooter beginner in the competition but that did not waver his determination and you can tell by his tongue out riding style.
