COLLIE SKATEPARK COMPETITION – ROUND 4 FREESTYLE NOW WESTERN AUSTRALIAN SKATEPARK COMPETITION SERIES

Round 4 of the Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series took place at the Collie skatepark located about 200kms south of Perth. It was great to see many competitors travel from Perth to attend the skatepark competition. Once again there was a good number of spectators on the day with lots of parental support, this is always good to have. The weather on the day was looking a bit doggy with rain forecasted.  As the last competitors was finishing up their run the rain started, timed perfect. At all of the Freestyle Now skatepark competition there are three classes for competitors to enter, beginners (younger and still learning), intermediates (competitors with some good skills) and the open class (consistent and dials tricks) in the three disciplines scooter, skateboard and bmx. There is also a girl’s class to help encourage more girls to enter. We would like to thank the Shire of Collie and our supporters, Colony bmxSacrifice scooters4 skateboard Co and Aikenhead skateboard shop. Round 6 of the 2017 series takes place at the Pinjarra skatepark on the 1st April. Be sure to check our coming events page for all the latest information.

Clockwise from top left – Karee Furneyvall has been competing in a few competitions lately and she is progressing well, 1st in the girls class – Jack Forman is a rad young kid who loves skateboarding. He took out the 2016 intermediate year end title in the F.N.W.A.S.S. and had now moved up to the open class. taking out the 1st place in Collie was well deserving – Jiordan Giacoppo has the power and the flow, another 1st place for him – Andres Lainevool is travelling in Australia from his home country of Estonia, it was great to have him roll out the rad in Collie. This tuck no hander gap transfer from the little quarter to the wedge in the foreground was just some of his radness, 1st place in bmx open.
