Freestyle Now headed north for the Passion of the Pilbara festival in Onslow, kicking off the weekend with a Friday skatepark activation. The crew ran coaching jam sessions for the local riders, with a strong turnout and plenty of stoke as participants picked up new skills and got comfortable on their BMX, scooters and skateboards and won prizes during the various challenges that were set. It was a great way to get the community involved and ready for the festival action.

Saturday was BMX stunt shows day, with Freestyle Now rolling out the rad performing two high-energy displays for a small but enthusiastic crowd. The full rider lineup included Sam Grace, who flew all the way from California (after a five-hour wait in Brisbane), Andrew Ahumada, Luke Tooze, and Shaun Jarvis on his bike and the mic. Each rider brought something special to the shows, from technical tricks to crowd-pleasing stunts, keeping the energy high throughout.  Andrew Ahumada stole the spotlight with a massive backflip no-hander, while Luke Tooze lived up to his reputation, landing two tricks in a single jump. Sam Grace wowed the audience with his smooth style and technical precision, His barspin to tailwhip backflip was super rad. The combination of skill, creativity, and showmanship made both performances stand out.

The shows ran alongside live music, with the Hoodoo Gurus headlining the festival, creating a fantastic festival atmosphere. A big thank you to Passion of the Pilbara for hosting us and to everyone who came down to the skatepark and the festival to watch the action. The weekend was a perfect reminder of how action sports can bring excitement, inspiration, and community engagement to events across Western Australia.
