The Karratha skatepark competition

twitterlinkedinmail

Freestyle Now had the pleasure of traveling to Karratha in the north of Western Australia to host yet another round of the F.N.W.A.S.S. (Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series). Round 10 of the series was an awesome weekend with a great turn out of competitors in all classes. On the Saturday Freestyle Now held a bmx, skate and scooter coaching jam session where participants had the opportunity to advance their skills and then utilize them in the competition on the Sunday. Both days were well attended by many with a great amount of interaction from the skatepark users and Freestyle Now squad members Kie Ashworth, Shaun Jarvis and Phillip Marshall, who made the journey north.

A big thanks to Kim from the Shire of Roebourne for making it all happen as smooth as it did. Props also need to go out to Stowaway distribution, 4 skateboard co and Mutts scooters for once again flowing some great prizes along with Scotts Cycles and Edge sports in Karratha, in addition to Woodside, North West shelf project, Rio Tinto and apprenticeships Australia.

How hard is it Kie

twitterlinkedinmail

Kie Ashworth has been on the Freestyle Now squad for 6 years now and as always has been killing it forever. An awesome DVD was released nearly 4 years ago call “How hard is it”. It was the first DVD to be put out highlighting the riding scene in Perth Western Australia and it really made a lot of people stand up and take attention of the riders in Perth. One of the riders in the DVD is Kie Ashworth. The DVD took about 3 years to put together so when watching this section of Kie remember that some of the footage could be up to 6 years old. It just goes to show that Kie has been killing it on a bike for a long long time. Enjoy.

The adventures of Kashman

twitterlinkedinmail

Freestyle Now squad member Kie Ashworth has been back on home ground in Perth for a short period of time recently. Kie has been so amped up to ride every day that guilt sets in if he has not done his duty of shredding every day. His influence on other riders is one that makes you just want to go out and shred just like he is, if you ever get the chance to ride with Kie you should.
He will be heading back to his residency of Adelaide to once again ride that place to the ground. Kie is also setting up for some international travel a bit later this year, but more info on this will come to light over the next few weeks. In the mean time enjoy the below photos, get amped to ride and go shred.

The adventures of Kash man continues

twitterlinkedinmail

Freestyle Now squad member Kie Ashworth has been a busy dude of late, with riding trails traveling to Melbourne for a few days and just generally hitting the wheels hard, he has been ripping. This photo was taken by Mike Moore at the West Beach skatepark in Adelaide, not far from Kie’s current place of residency. This half pipe is massive at about 13 feet high so you know Kie is well up there. If you want to check out additional content from Mike Moore then check out his blog here.
