Freestyle Now at Gingin Market Day Festival 2010

twitterlinkedinmail

On Saturday 11th September 2010 Freestyle Now were at the Gingin market day festival to throw down some bmx shows. The friendly community based event had a good turnout of patrons with many enjoying the market day’s festivities including the Freestyle Now stunt squad shows. The small event called for a low impact show, so Freestyle Now hit up Flatland show with some small kicker jumps added into the mix.
It was a great day.
A big shout out to Cody who travelled form Dalwallinu, 200kms away just to come and see the demo. It’s great to see someone so stoked on BMX.

One sugar to go

twitterlinkedinmail

Last month freestyle now squad member Andrew McDermott and fellow flatland rider Mike Brandt hit up the BamBoo Bar for the one sugar to go art exhibition fund raiser night for the Leukaemia Foundation.

The night had a great atmosphere with many people attending and enjoying the skills of the flatland riding and viewing and buying the awesome artwork that was created for the event.

One sugar to go was not your typical art exhibition, and they enlisted high profile creative’s to produce artworks and demonstrate their skills with proceeds being donated to the Leukaemia Foundation.

Check out the one sugar to go site for some more info and to view some of the photos from the night’s festivities.

3500kms of radabonzical action – Waroona youth day

twitterlinkedinmail

Monday 12th April at the Waroona skatepark was the next stop on the 3500kms trip. The Freestyle Now squad has been there numerous times to throw down a great day of BMX and skate action for the locals. The squad list for the day was Shaun Jarvis, Dylan Schmidt, Phillip Marshall along with Ben Moran and the mad Matt Reilly (this was the start of his journey).

With not much recovery time and little rest from the days before it was an early start as ramps needed to be set up. The only problem that was presented to the squad on arrival was the dark clouds and the water falling from the sky. On this day the skatepark was most defiantly out of action. As Waroona is a fantastic place the Squad were able to work with the council and found a large shed at the show grounds in which the Freestyle Now ramps could be set up. The size was a bit cramped but as always the squad pulled out all stops and nailed out a great day for all to enjoy. With a few demos and a day of coaching jam sessions it was a great day for the locals to enjoy. There were give-a-ways from Stowaway Distribution and Beyond skate throughout the day.

Big thanks to Maree Ellis for being so awesome in getting things sorted for the youth of Waroona.
