Freestyle Now bmx stunt squad at Rockingham youth festival

On Saturday 20th March the Freestyle Now bmx stunt squad were out in force at the Rockingham youth festival. The day was a great chilled out event with a stack of youth bands playing some great music. The Rockingham youth service team done an awesome job in organizing such a brilliant day.

Freestyle Now squad members Tim Rose, Dylan Schmidt and Shaun Jarvis invited shredder Dave Pinelli to the demos. Dave is a super awesome dude who can bust out some mean tricks and at the end of the day Dave was even boosting massive high 180,s over the box. Tim started to throw in some new tricks like tabled 360 to turndowns, Dylan had the customary Dylan enthusiasm and just kept hitting all the tricks while after a year and a half off from jumping due to injuries Shaun started to jump the box again. An awesome day was had by many.

Freestyle Now BMX stunt squad at the Corymbia Festival

The Freestyle Now bmx stunt squad were at the Corymbia festival over the weekend for a stack of jumping demos. Fill in rider Warren Bowers from Tempered bikes was there on the day as well to throw down some no hander back flips for the youngens. The day was hot and then turned to some patchy rain showers but not enough to stop the show. The festival was a great day and the turnout was good. The final act on the main stage was an absolutely 80s concert featuring musicians Brian Mannix(Uncanny Xmen), Scott Carne (Kids in the Kitchen), Ally Fowler (the Chantoozies) and Sean Kelly(the Models).

Last show of the decade

The Freestyle Now bmx stunt squat were out in full force for the last time this decade at the Williams trotting club race meet. Some mid race entertainment was required so the squad was on hand to throw down their specialist skills and keep the crowds entertained. The day was hot, really hot and the spectators were keeping to the shade. The trotting race meet was small but exciting. Being in the infield and that close to the horses racing at such a speed was awesome.

Victoria Park Christmas Street Mall

On Sunday arvo the Freestyle now bmx stunt squad were at the Victoria Park Christmas Street Mall to throw down some awesome riding and to mix it up with the festive celebrators. The crowds really enjoyed the shows with a stack of people coming up and giving the squad members props for banging out some awesome tricks.

Woodridge community fair

On Sunday the Freestyle Now bmx stunt squad was at the Woodridge community fair. It was a great day to be out riding and mingling with the crowd. The community was really into the shows with a stack of young people hanging out with us most of the day and getting to ride our bikes. The shows were flatland only and the surface was top notch to be riding on. Squad members Shaun Jarvis and Andrew McDermitt were joined by Mike Brandt and special guest Victorian transplant Ben Moran .It was a good way for the riders to get warmed up for the Downunderground national flatland contest series taking place on Friday 6^th November at the Canning agricultural show.

One of the funniest things that has ever been said at a demo was when an older lady came and had a look at the squad riding and said with surprise “OH…… they’re adults!!!

Yes that’s is right grown men riding bmx bikes.

Gidgegannup agricultural show

The 63^rd Gidgegannup agricultural show saw some awesome riding go down from the Freestyle Now squad. Kie Ashworth, Tim Rose, Dylan Schmidt and Shaun Jarvis turned out the tricks for the massive crowd who were going off with every trick thrown. David Pinelli also arrived during the day and busted out some Dave goodness. It’s always a treat to see his way bombed dip 360’s. Thanks to local rider Justin for helping out with some photo snaps and for chillin out for the day. A good day was had by all indeed

The good stuff from the Perth royal show week

Over the last week in September the Freestyle Now squad grew to about 15 riders for demos at the Perth royal show. Riders came from all over the Western Australia to bust out the good stuff for the masses. Corey Smithies from Kalgoorlie is a total shredder and was in Perth for the demos. For Corey it was the first time he had the chance to hit up some proper street riding. He send through this video highlighting his experience.

Waroona Agricultural show

On Saturday the Freestyle Now stunt squad was at the Waroona Agricultural show once again to throw down some super stunts. With Kie Ashworth fresh back from his America trip, Tim Rose still amped up from the Perth royal show, Shaun Jarvis ready to get a ride in and Andrew McDermott always super stoked to be riding flatland the shows really were set to explode. The weather was looking a bit bad and the third show was rained out. The squad did manage to get a smaller third show in before the fourth and final show took place under the sunshine.

2009 Perth Royal Show

The Freestyle Now bmx stunt squad has been riding and rippin hard at the 2009 Perth Royal show. After 8 days worth of demos everyone was getting a bit sore but it’s been a stack of fun. Thousands of people have got to see the Freestyle Now squad in action. The shows have been put together along with freestyle motocross. It’s been one heck of an action pack show, with kaos and madness reining supreme. The crowds have been awesome every day and the comments we got back from the audience is so encouraging.

A big shout out to the Royal Agricultural society of Western Australia for having the Freestyle Now bmx stunt squad rock out all day and night.

Thanks to all the riders who were involved in the show as without them none of the show performances would have been able to go ahead as well as they have.
