The last round of the 2012 series of the DownUnderGround, national flatland contest series was recently held in Melbourne. Freestyle now squad members Jason Parker and Shaun Jarvis attended to ride and enjoy all the things that make riding bmx fun. The contest was fairly low key but with a good turnout of riders the day made it a great contest. Jason took out the win in the advanced class with Shaun taking the second placing. It is good to see that even though Shaun founded Freestyle Now 26 years ago and Jason joined the Freestyle Now squad in 1999 but both of these riders are still out there and competing and riding hard. Congratulations to both of these squad members on their placing.

It’s almost that time to roll flat out again. The new series of the DownUnderGround is about to start up with round one kicking things off in Sydney on the 25th of February. The day itself will no doubt be one heck of a rad time. With riders from all over converging on the Summer Hill location to partake in some flatland action as well as many riders hitting the skatepark next to the flatland contest site. To encourage some of them skatepark/street riders over to the flatside there will be a special class for the best non flatland flatland trick (many park and street riders don’t know but they actually ride a fair bit of flatland). Freestyle Now will be supporting the contest along with a list of others so check the promo flyer.
Freestyle Now squad members Paul Chamberlain and Shaun Jarvis will be in full force at the contest to bring the some FN radness.
Have a watch of the video below from the previous DownUnderGround at Summer Hill from round 3 of last series.

DownUnderGround national bmx flatland contest finals took place in Melbourne one the 21st of August at the Aus bike expo. The contest was a great event with riders traveling from all over Australia and some from around the world. Freestyle Now squad members Paul Chamberlain and Shaun Jarvis were at the contest riding in the pro and advanced classes respectively. The two riders rode really well throughout the competition with both riders making it through to the finals in their classes. Paul took out the second place but he won the year end title for the series. Shaun qualified in 2nd place but felt the pressure a bit much and missed a few tricks in his final runs, taking out the 4th place and ended up with a 2nd in the 2011 contest series. Congratulation to both riders for all their great efforts in progressing with their riding.
