South Melbourne Youth Festival

In early December Freestyle Now was in full force at the South Melbourne Youth Festival. The crowds there were treated to some awesome flatland riding from the likes of Melbourne resident Grant Cruise and Mr Newcircle Shane Badman. The ever so powerful Greg Barns got the crowd amped with the microphone duties and even bunnyhopping over the riders. Big ups to the three guys for throwing down. The below photos were taken during some warm up runs.

Armadale night session number three

The City of Armadale night sessions that have been taking place in the Jull street mall every Thursday night, over the month of December. Session number three took place last night and the Freestyle Now squad were on hand to get some demo riding done and there was an open invite to let others participate in a jam session. There is one more left on the 23rd December so head on down  and hit it up for a session.

Pinjarra Christmas fair

Wednesday the 15th of December was the Pinjarra Christmas fair. The Freestyle Now bmx stunt squad were invited to come out and perform some bmx shows. With squad members Kie Ashworth, Shaun Jarvis, Tim Rose and Andrew McDermott present the shows were crankin and large. A big shout out to all the people who came up after the shows to talk to the riders.

It was invite only

On Sunday the 12th December the Freestyle Now bmx stunt squad were invited to do some stunt shows at a private Christmas carnival held at the Claremont showgrounds. The event was held for the families of the workers that belong to certain social clubs and groups. The day was a chilled out affair with the stunt squad throwing down some great show performances during the really hot day. Freestyle Now also invited Luke Snelling, Bradie Yeomans and Mr Royal Bmx, Ben Roberts to come down and enjoy the day.

Armadale night session number two

Thursday afternoon the Jull street mall in Armadale was energy bound with the Freestyle Now squad setting up ramps throwing down a few demos and inviting people to come and session the course. A big thanks to the city of Armadale for setting the gig up and for getting some youth activity flowing in the Jull street mall. If you’re keen come down next Thursday as it all takes place again from 5pm till 7pm right opposite the Armadale train station.

Armadale night sessions

The City of Armadale has engaged Freestyle Now for a series of night time sessions, every Thursday night in December at the Jull Street Mall in Armadale. The first one has been and gone but there are 3 more to come. The ramps are set up and free ride is welcome if you wish to rock up. The location is right opposite the Armadale train station. Come down enjoy.

Bout time

The Freestyle Now bmx stunt squad recently hit up a half time demo at the Perth Roller Derby . Roller Derby is a contact sport played on quad rollerskates around a flat oval track. Its fast and action pack with the female team members getting into the full contact mode during the bout.  The night was awesome with a packed crowd on location to witness the chaos of the roller derby bout between the Bloody Sundaes and the Mistresses of Mayhem, whom pulled through to win by just 1 point on the night.

Peter Granheim was at the event and photographed some of the action from both the Freestyle Now bmx stunt squad as well as the roller derby bout. Some of his photos are posted below and if you would like to see more of the night’s evidence check it here

Freestyle Now at the Collie show

The 2010 collie show went down over the weekend and the Freestyle Now bmx stunt squad were there on Friday night to hit up some show performances for the patrons who came out in full force. The fireworks went off after the last Freestyle Now show to culminate a spectacular end to a great Friday night. Thanks to all those who were in the crowd cheering at the last show. Awesome

The wheel thing

This Saturday Freestyle Now will be hitting up a halftime demo for the Perth Roller Derby. This sport is awesome and you got to check it out. This coming Saturday bout is booked out but check the video and the Perth Roller Derby web site for more info, and make sure you get to the next bout

This weekend live it

This weekend Chaos and madness will reign supreme in the south of Western Australia as Freestyle Now get Yes-vember moving.

Friday the 19th the Freestyle Now bmx stunt squad will be heading to the Collie Agricultural show to get the action pumping for the show patrons who will be able to witness some radabonzical styles from the likes of Kie Ashworth, Shaun Jarvis, Tim Rose and Dylan Schmidt.

Saturday every shifts into competition mode as Katanning is the next destination for Freestyle Now. Hosting the competition at the Epic-Fest bmxers scooters and skaters will be able to throw down at the Katanning Skatepark and win some great prizes from Stowaway, Mutts scooters and 4 skateboards as well as enjoy some epic activities like T-shirt Screen printing workshops, hip hop performances, sumo suits, food stalls, as well as some demo performances from the Freestyle Now stunt squad.

Come Sunday and the next stop is the Narrogin Rev Heads. The Narrogin revheads is a weekend full of gasoline fuelled automotive fun. With burnout competitions the big draw card. In amongst all of that gasoline fueled action there will be a BMX dirt jumping competition. The jumps will be open for riding on the Saturday if you wish to hit em up. On the Sunday 21st the competition starts at 10am with final regos and more practice with the competition hitting it up at 12 noon. Prizes on the day will come from Fox and Unit as well as The Surf Shop in Narrogin is putting up $500 in vouchers to be won, plus trophies for the select few . if you wish to register for the comp seek more info via email from Surf Shop in Narrogin.

So this weekend coming that is no excuse to be playing that stupid gaming console, get livin and get riding. Freestyle Now before it’s too late.
