The adventures of Kash man and T Banger continue

Freestyle Now squad member Tim Rose sent in these few words and a few photos from his recent trip in America with fellow squad member Kie Ashworth and good friend Jake Coreless

“Hey all, after hitting trails for two weeks we packed up the jeep n headed south to Philadelphia. Weather had gotten pretty sour at this point, and we were able to witness some crazy mid October snow storm breaking a 32 year record or something!! After a quick look on Google we found FDR was a 4 km ride from our hotel, blessed with some amazing weather we spent a few days riding street in Philly. Kie’s good mate Tom White was pretty much our tour guide taking us around to some awesome spots. Once again we hit the road and made the 7 hour drive to Cleveland Ohio, hitting an indoor park named Rays MTB Park. This place is massive so many different things to ride you can get lost there, one of the locals showed us a room full of box jump rhythms that we hadn’t found yet. This is where our trip unfolded. Jake got a little loose on one of the lines there and got pitched over the bars straight into another bmx jump lip! Took a really hard slam! and got knocked out for over 1min and with his hand looking pretty bad, a trip the emergency room was made. A couple of hours and the news was surgery. We all decided making the trip back home was definitely going to be the better option. So we hauled ass back to New York. Not being able to get a flight straight away we spent the last days of our trip walking around the city checking out all the land marks. The place is absolutely massive and absolutely amazing! Was sad to leave, but we’ll be back next year. The trip was a blast, thanks to everyone who helped us out along the way”

The adventures of Kash man and T Banger

Freestyle Now squad members Tim Rose and Kie Ashworth along with good friend Jake Coreless are settling into the travel life in America. Tim Rose sent in a few words and photos about what’s been going on in the last few weeks.

The trip so far is going great. The flight over here was one of the best we’ve had, got given some sleeping tablets and we were out cold for like 7 hours, definitely killed some time. Landed in NY with nowhere to go so we took some shuttle bus to a cheap hotel, and the fight to get over jet lag began but it took about 3 nights and we were all pretty well good. We spent a couple of days working out the NY subway, if you think Sydney is bad this thing is ridiculous. We ended up being lost countless times all fun though. Went and checked out B and H camera wholesale in NY were we all spent a lot of money. We navigated our way to the new Animal warehouse over in jersey, awesome bunch of guys. The next day we were on a 4 hour greyhound bus ride to Binghamton in upstate NY to FBM to be reunited with our stallion from our last US trip. One new battery and some oil and the jeep fired up after sitting there for 2 years. Filled her up and headed to Bethlehem P.A. to ride Posh. We got to Bethlehem and went and rode a library but later found out there a $1000 fine for being there. We got over to Posh, and man them guys have done an amazing job keeping those trails in perfect shape. I’ve never ridden anything like it. You sit up the top pick your line and just hold on, 20 ft sets are effortless. We all rode till dark and helped the guys tarp up for the coming rain and headed over to Penn skate to ride an indoor park. This place houses the old little devil bowl, definitely a cool experience riding that, so many lines. So far we have rode some amazing places, had some amazing steaks and having a hell of a time.

It is autumn here now and the scenery is amazing.
Until next time, peace

Freestyle Now stunt squad – Day 8 – Perth Royal show

twitterlinkedinmail

After 8 days 16 BMX stunt shows the Freestyle Now squad ended the Perth Royal show with a banger of a show. The lunch time show was full of tricks from the squad all smashing out some radness. The Night time show was off the hook. Riders were jumping all over the place with nonstop action. On ramp 1, Dylan Schmidt and Michael Bayzand did backflips side by side, crazy stuff with no room for error. On jump 2, Jake Greaves and Tim Rose almost touched front wheels when Tim went for a flip and while in the 180 upside down mode Jake was taking off, so close but excitement all round. Ramp 3 the action was non stop with Bradie Yoemans throwing down some of the best tyre grabs in the biz. At the end of the show the riders from ramps 2 and 3 all hit up ramp 2 in a train mode and kept going onto ramp 1 where all 15 riders hit the ramp in one nonstop long train. Epic. After all was done it was time to celebrate with Royal BMX hosting an after royal show party.

Freestyle Now would like to send a big thanks to all the riders who participated in the BMX demos at the 2011 Perth Royal Show. Without all of the riders shredding  like they did none of the insane action would have been happing. Props to you all.

Freestyle Now bmx stunt squad – Day 7 – Perth Royal show

twitterlinkedinmail

Day seven of the Perth Royal show was so awesome. The Freestyle Now bmx stunt squad really dropped all the hammers during both the day and night shows as well as some mid demo street sessions. The lunch time show was just full of banger tricks that went down a treat for the crowds. Between the lunch and night show some of the crew went off to hit some streets for a bit more of a session. Then come the night time show the crowds at the show were massive and with that they were so loud. The guys from team FMX punched out some great motocross madness while the 15 rider strong crew from Freestyle Now hit some of the best tricks and some great all in rider trains over the jumps. The Friday night show can only be described with one word, Radabonzical.

Clockwise from top left – Andy set the table nice and flat – Kie Ashworth with his super hero impersonation – Michael Bayzand hits nothing in the air – David somehow dips his 360 so much it’s hard to work out how they spin.

Clockwise from top left – Tim Rose with a flatty 360 – Bryn Weinman can turndown a date to graduation as well as his bike – Laurance Bakewell can flair anything – Kie Ashworth large kicker 360.
