Morawa Dardy Day Out

Freestyle Now recently travelled out to Morawa, Western Australia for their Dardy Day Out. There was lots of different activities that people could get involved in during the day including a coaching jam session that Freestyle Now was hosting. The day was held at the Morawa School and as they don’t have a skatepark in town Freestyle Now took some of our portable ramps out there for the locals to get rad on. A big thanks to the Shire of Morawa as well as our supporters Stowaway distribution, Mutts scooters and 4 skateboard Co.

Getting rad in Port Hedland and Karratha

In June Freestyle Now headed to the North west towns of Port Hedland and Karratha to host some skatepark coaching sessions, competitions and most of all to have a heap of fun. With Freestyle Now squad members Shaun Jarvis, Billy Brooks and Phillip Marshall, the locals got to learn new tricks and skills, receive heaps of give-a-ways and they also had a heap of fun. Mount Isa Mega Day Out 2012

On the 21st July Freestyle Now ventured into the far western parts of Queensland to host a skatepark competition in Mount Isa as part of the Mount Isa Mega Day Out. During the day the Mayor, Tony McGrady gave a opening event address and there was some great activities for the locals during the day. Freestyle now riders Shaun Jarvis, David Pinelli and new reserves member Billy Brooks threw down a few bmx demos and they also helped out the locals later in the afternoon with some skatepark coaching sessions. The local radsters in Mount Isa are progressing well with many riders learning heaps of new tricks and smashing out awesome lines within the skatepark. The day was mega for sure and fun was had by many. A big thanks to the City of Mt Isa as well as our supporters,supporters Stowaway distribution, Mutts scooters  and 4 skateboard Co.

Clockwise from top left – Ricky Peel entered both scooter and bmx but a snapped chain held him back in the bmx comp, he still threw down a rad opposite one and one footer over the spine in the scooter rounds – Kevin Moore is a new Mount Isa transplant and ripped the heck outta the skatepark, barspin allyoop 270 – Kyle Coleman smashed this hip both ways and did tuck no handers as well – Harley Steed has been ripping the Mount Isa skatepark for a few years now, turndown over the box.

Round 14 – Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series – Port Kennedy skatepark

The Port Kennedy skatepark was the location for the latest round of the Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series (F.N.W.A.S.S.) The day started with a lot of families coming out to show their support, always a good thing to see as there was a lot of younger competitors entered. The day rolled along really well with much fun being had bay all who attended on the day. Again a big thank you needs to go out to City of Rockingham the support and to our long time supporters Stowaway distribution, 4 skateboard co and Mutts scooters for the fantastic prizes.

Freestyle Now headed up to Darwin to host a skatepark competition at the Palmerston skatepark in June. Freestyle Now squad member Shaun Jarvis and radster Billy Brooks spent a few days in Darwin riding, having fun and mixing it with the locals.

Skatepark coaching sessions

Freestyle Now recently spent some time in Karratha to host some skatepark coaching sessions. Freestyle Now squad members Shaun Jarvis, Phillip Marshall and all round good guy Billy Brooks spent some time at the Dampier and Karatha skateparks to help some participants with new tricks and get them all stoked on skatepark activity.

Round 13 – Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series – Nickol West skatepark

Karratha is a growing town, thanks to the mining boom that is flooding the north west. Freestyle now spent a few days in Karratha for some coaching sessions and to host round 13 of the Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series. The hype around the Nickol West skatepark on the day was electric with a stack of young dudes rolling hard and having a blast. A big thanks to the Shire of Roebourne and to our supporters Stowaway distribution, 4 skateboard co and Mutts scooters for the fantastic prizes.

Port Hedland skatepark coaching session

Freestyle Now headed to Port Hedland at the end of June to host some skatepark coaching. On the Wednesday it was an invite only session at the Port Hedland skatepark while the Thursday session at the South Hedland skatepark was part of NADOC celebrations. Participants at both skateparks were able to interact with the Freestyle Now squad members and learn some new skills or advice on tricks they are already working on. There were lots of give-a-ways at the sessions thanks to our supporters Stowaway distribution, Mutts scooters and 4 skateboard Co. A big thank you to the Town of Port Hedland for getting behind the youth of the area and supporting such a great event.

Palmerston Skatepark competition

The City of Palmerston in the Northern Territory just recently had a new water park built next to the skatepark location. As part of the opening celebrations a skatepark competition was scheduled, and Freestyle Now was set to get the competition rocking. The turn out on the day was fantastic with spectators and competitors in great numbers. There was some awesome riding, skating and scooting taking place on the day from all the people competing. A big thank you to the City of Palmerston, the NT government, Spokes NT as well as our supporters Stowaway distribution, 4 skateboard co and Mutts scooters for the fantastic prizes.

Palmerston skatepark competition

Freestyle Now will be heading to Darwin in the Northern Territory  next week to host a skatepark competition at the Palmerston skatepark. The competition is part of the grand opening of a new water park that the City of Palmerston has just completed. The Palmerston skatepark has also had an upgrade recently and is begging to be shredded. The competition is open to all competitors wishing to compete in scooter, skateboard and bmx. As always there will be some great prizes for the worthy from our supporters, Stowaway distribution, Mutts scooters  and 4 skateboard Co.
