Back in September Freestyle Now performed some bmx stunt shows at the Beverley Agricultural show. It was a great day but very cold. Freestyle Now squad members Shaun Jarvis, Jack Carwardine, Luke Tooze, Taj Hamilton invited Nathan Joson to come and roll out the rad. We also had Tyler Gayski and Daniel Davis come and hang out and perform in some of the shows as well. It defiantly was a great day and some great tricks went down. Freestyle Now performed at the Beverley agricultural show back in 1999 and 20 years later we had the pleasure of returning to roll out the rad. Much had changed in them 20 years. Back in 1999 it was just squad member Shaun Jarvis performing a solo flatland show at the Beverley Agricultural show. Two years later Freestyle Now got the bmx stunt show ramp set up. After 19 years of service the Beverley agricultural show was meant to the last official show on our old bmx stunt show ramp although just a few weeks later the bmx stunt show ramp was used at the Groundswell festival in Scarborough. The FN box as it is know by will get some modifications and a new landing ramp made and will possibly see another 18 years. Lets keep rolling out the RAD. Be sure to check the video.

Freestyle Now recently performed some entertaining bmx stunt shows at the Geraldton Sunshine Festival. The Geraldton Sunshine festival always has great engaging crowds and this year was no exception. This was the first bmx stunt show that Freestyle Now performed using our new bigger stunt show ramp. At over 2 metres tall the bmx stunt show performers can really push the limits on the bmx stunts that they are performing.
Freestyle Now squad members Shaun Jarvis, Josh Garwood and Luke Tooze invited good friend Nathan Joson to round out the bmx stunt show performers. Big tricks were being performed and the crowds were putting the energy back into the performance, the more noise the crowd makes the more energy the performers receive. Freestyle Now came to roll out the rad and entertain the masses at the Geraldton Sunshine festival and that is what we achieved. BMX freestyle is now an official Olympic sport. There are many different types of bmx freestyle riding from street, skatepark, flatland, vert and dirt but it is the skatepark style is the one that is now in the Olympics. Freestyle Now decided it was time to run an official Western Australian BMX freestyle state championships for skatepark riders. The location was the Belmont skatepark due to its openness and functionality along with having a good jump box. There were a great number of riders who entered the competition which catered for many ages and skill levels. Under 10’s, beginners, intermediates, over 35’s and the open class.
Freestyle Now squad members placed we in the competition with Josh Garwood taking 2nd in open even though he went to hospital with a concussion and new squad member Luke Tooze taking 3rd in the open class along with Jack Carwardine placing 11th. Co founder of Freestyle Now Shaun Jarvis was leading the over 35’s class but took the 2nd place in the finals and recruits squad member Taj Hamilton took the 6th place in the intermediate class
The week leading up to the competition day was rain all week. But come competition day the sun was out although it was windy, but this did die down toward the end of the day. Many bmx riders turned up to roll out the rad and to try to take the prestigious number 1 in Western Australia title. There were lots of different styles of riding going down over the different classes, some riders going wide open and some riders being super technical along with a mix between them all. All up it was a great representation of the riding that is currently taking place in Western Australia. The riding in the groups was all really close as you can tell by the points awarded to each rider, each competitor had two runs with only their best run being taken into account for their points. Riders were judged on difficulty, diversity and consistency with a maximum score from one judge of 60 points, and when you add up all the numbers for rider to be only one or two points the difference you know it’s a close competition. A big congratulation to all the riders who entered and especially to the riders who took out the number 1 positions. Freestyle Now hopes to roll out the state championships into other states around Australia over the next year. We would like to thank our supporters for the 2019 Western Australian BMX freestyle state championships, Colony BMX, Local BMX, Mad Orse Industries, City of Belmont and Bmx sports Western Australia along with the sports governing body Freestyle BMX Australia.

Freestyle Now is all about the rad and sometimes you just have to build stuff to get rad on. No matter where you are at home, at work or in a hardware carpark. Freestyle Now squad member Shaun Jarvis did just that recently and built a kicker ramp (launch ramp) in a hardware carpark. Kicker ramps / launch ramps are great, they can fit in a ute or van, can be used at any location, skateparks or streets, river jumping or even stunt shows which was the purpose for this build. Check out the video and get building. Be sure to subscribe to our Youtube channel and scope out the 10 years worth of videos

Freestyle Now recruits squad members Naotada Yamada and Jigen Omotehara recently both took home some first place positions at bmx flatland contests in Japan. Naotoda competed in the under 16 class at the Chimera A side games in Kobe and did an awesome run to take the win. With a great front wheel combo and with only one touch the rad was definitely rad. Congratulations.
These two radsters are both bmx flatland contest winners. Jigen Omotehara and Naotada Yamada have been friends for over half their lives and are both Freestyle Now squad members. Both are wearing the Freestyle Now “Life without BMX” t shirts. Check our Facebook store if you would like to get one
Jigen entered the Japan BMX freestyle federation Japan Cup in the 13 – 15 class and took home the first place with a contest run that was full of hard combos and only 2 touches. The contest took place in Okayama City in September on the same weekend that a typhoon Hagibis hit Japan. Congratulations. Jigen will be competing in Kyoto this weekend (16th November) for round 3 of the Japan Cup.
Freestyle Now squad member Dez Marssen knows how to get rad on a bike. His bmx flatland skills are dialed. Over the past few months Dez has been performing in the Elements of Freestyle with the ISH Dance Collective and recently performed in Edinburgh. Following on from the theater shows Dez travelled to Spain to hang out with Alberto Moya and compete in the Boadilla street line competition where he took out the 2nd place.
Dez has just recently compiled a stack of his instagram videos to make the Insta Ammo clip. Be sure to give this one a watch to see how much radness Dez possesses on a bike. Six and a half minutes of pure bmx flatland skills that will blow your mind on what is possible on a bmx bike. Keep rolling out the rad Dez.

Freestyle Now recently performed bmx stunt shows at the Geraldton Sunshine Festival. What a great event it is, right on the Geraldton foreshore, with great crowds. This was the first show that Freestyle Now performed on our new big jump. The new jump is a lot bigger than our old ramp set up that we had for 18 years. And with a bigger ramp bigger tricks and more air will be achieved. The day started out with our set up in the morning to perfect jumping conditions. As the morning progressed the wind started to pick up which can be difficult to perform in. Freestyle Now squad members Shaun Jarvis and Josh Garwood invited good friends Luke Tooze and Nathan Joson to round out the bmx stunt show performers. With a crew like that the wind did not affect the show performance. Big tricks were being performed and the crowds were putting the energy back into the performance, the more noise the crowd makes the more energy the performers receive. Freestyle Now came to roll out the rad and entertain the masses at the Geraldton Sunshine festival and that is what we achieved. When it comes to entertainment Freestyle Now definitely has you covered with a high entertainment value bmx stunt show. Freestyle Now recently headed out to Meekatharra for a skatepark activation session. On the trip was Freestyle now boss man Shaun Jarvis, Josh Garwood who was just getting back into riding after his fractured vertebrates 9 weeks before the trip after the doctor gave the all clear to go and scooter radster Tyler Jennings. Guest skateboard shredder Sam Orme was also invited on the trip. The first day was taken up by the 9 hour drive out to Meekatharra. Day two was the opening of the skatepark and a skatepark activation coaching session. The Freestyle Now helped the locals learn new skills and gain more confidence in bmx, scooter and skateboard activities, so they can have more fun at the skatepark. Day three was another skatepark activation coaching session with more skills being taken up. On day four it was the long journey home again. Definitely was a great trip full of good times and much radness. The local skatepark participants out in Meekatharra were stoked as were the Freestyle Now crew. On the trip the crew even managed to find an old pool on the trip that Josh and Sam got to roll in, definitely a highlight of the trip. The Meekatharra skatepark is great and if you are ever travelling the 770kms out that was into the remote Western Australian outback be sure to stop and have a roll.
