Coolgardie celebrations day

Back in September Freestyle Now headed out to the Western Australian goldfields town of Coolgardie for their celebrations day.
Freestyle Now took some extra ramps to add to the skatepark for the day which the riders from around the area enjoyed. Freestyle Now squad members Phillip Marshall, Shaun Jarvis and Dylan Schmidt headed out along with Phillip’s friend Logan to film some of the trip. The below edit is the outcome. Enjoy and travel some.

Freestyle Now in Canberra

In early December Freestyle Now squad members Paul Chamberlain, Shaun Jarvis and Billy Brooks traveled to Canberra to host a skatepark competition at the Tuggeranong skatepark. The competition was rad, with scooter, skateboard and bmx competitors al having a blast. The squad members also got to hit up a few of the Canberra spots on their two day visit. The video below shows some of the highlights of the adventure. Back Bone Bmx rider Tyson Jones-Peni makes an appearance at Woden skatepark as well. Enjoy.

Livewire Jam 2012

The Livewire jam is held in memory of local Mandurah rider Chadd Walton. The 8th annual jam sees many riders far and wide attending the day. The day was fun with good time being the order of the day. Brady Thomas was there on the day to take a few photos.  A big thank you to Stowaway distribution for flowing some products to give away over the day.

DownUnderGround promo video 2

The new series of the DownUnderGround, the national bmx flatland contest series is set to roll out in Sydney on the 19th of January. Waverly Park, Waverly in Sydney is only minutes from the world famous Bondi Beach and is the location for this round to roll on. This will be the start of series 5 and Freestyle Now will be once again supporting the contest along with Colony, and 2020 bmx magazine. Plan your journey and get yourself to Sydney to enjoy the fun times and radness that is DownUnderGround.

Heading DownUnderGround

Freestyle now squad members Jason Parker and Shaun Jarvis are heading to Melbourne this weekend to get amongst the other riders who are heading to the finals of the DownUnderGround national flatland contest series. This is the finals of the 2012 series which takes place at the world famous flatland location, Melbourne Imax. The DownUnderGround is what bmx is all about, the fun times, riding with friends, meeting new riders and learning new tricks.

Freestyle on Fridays

The Armadale skatepark has been in use for about a year now. Freestyle Now has been working closely with the City of Armadale over the past few months with the Freestyle on Friday programme. Every Friday night the skatepark hosts a coaching session from 7pm till 10pm. Covering skateboard, scooters and bmx there is something for all to get involved with. The coaching programme is all part of a larger programme to engage the youth in the area in a positive environment. If you’re looking for something to on a Friday night hit up the Armadale skatepark.

DownUnderGround – the finals – Melbourne

It is all systems go for the 24th of November when Freestyle Now presents the finals of the 2012 DownUnderGround contest series at the world famous Imax location in Melbourne. With the day kicking off at 11am with a jam session and then later moving into an informal contest to keep everything a chilled as possible. The contest is supported by Colony bmx. Mark in your calendar and get your self rollin.

Coolgardie celebrations day

On the 23rd of September Freestyle Now helped the goldfields town of Coolgardie celebrate its birthday. Freestyle Now headed out to Coolgardie with a few extra ramps to add to the towns skatepark. The town came to life with great entertainment and a variety of vendors all to add to the celebrations. A great day of riding went down with local scooters, skaters and bmx riders all rolling around the skatepark for the fun of it. Some great prizes were given out thanks our supporters,  Stowaway distribution, Mutts scooters and  4 skateboard Co.

The City of Armadale is running a programme through to the end of December at the skatepark from 7pm till 10pm. Come down and hang out and learn some new skills.

Pinjarra skatepark official opening

On the 16th of August was the official opening of the new skatepark in Pinjarra. Freestyle Now was there to host the opening celebrations with a coaching jam session. The opening celebrations were all thanks to the Shire of Murray, Alcoa, Lottery west, Department of Sport and Recreation, Royalties for Regions, Department of regional development and lands and to our supporters Stowaway distribution, Mutts scooters  and 4 skateboard Co. for the product give-a-ways.
