Palmerston skatepark competition

Freestyle Now recently was in the Northern Territory to host a skatepark competition in Palmerston as part of the Palmerston festival. The day was hot in both temperature and riding with 57 competitors and great crowd support. The level of skill has most defiantly progressed since last time that Freestyle Now was there only a few months ago, them Northern Territorians know how to get rad.a big thank you to the City of Palmerston for rolling out a super rad day to everyone and to Stowaway distribution, Mutts scooters, 4 skateboard Co and to Spokes NT for the rad prizes, it was good to see everyone going home with a prize.

Clockwise from top left – Gerry Cure took two seconds to throw in this tuck no hander and took two seconds for the day, 2nd in both scooter and bmx – Rick Almeida has heaps of power in his skating and it showed in the competition, stale fish fakie from tranny to bank – Larz Jessop has a cool name and can do cool tricks like this one handed bean plant – Chris Jones recently moved to Darwin from Western Australia and is rippin just the same as always, a 3rd for him in the competition.

Freestyle on Fridays

If you’re looking for something to do on a Friday night head down to the Armadale skatepark to hang out with some of the Freestyle Now squad. The City of Armadale is running a programme through to the end of December at the skatepark from 7pm till 10pm. Come down and hang out and learn some new skills.

Palmerston Bmx Scooter Skate competition

Round 15 – Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series – Wonthella skatepark

On Sunday the 26th of August 36 competitors transcended on the Wonthella skatepark in Geraldton just over 400kms from Perth to lay down some fat tricks and have a good time. The level of radness is always increasing in the Geraldton scene which is good as well as the number of new participants willing to get involved in such a great activity. The number of spectators at the competition was also good to see, people coming out to support, that’s awesome. Big thanks must go out to the Geraldton PCYC for supporting the competition and to Stowaway distribution, Mutts scooters and 4 skateboard Co for the rad prizes, it was good to see everyone going home with a prize.

Clockwise from top left – Shay Mortimer was hitting the hips large and both ways, this toboggan is his opposite – Joss Turner hit this flair double whip to a great reply from the crowd – Dylan Curruthers is an awesome dude, always down for fun and to get rad. 360 less hands over the hip – Joel Fitzpatrick was skating and creating good to see him getting second place.

 Jaxon Diss got so rad he won the bmx stud class, this whip from the rail ride was proof of some of his radness.

 Top left – Levi Scamporlino hits a 360 bri out of the fly out quarter – Top right – Colin Marsden is progressing so well and getting more powerful with his riding, turn down over the hip – Bottom – the other riders in the stud class look on as Arnold Mondello throws down a super slick flair during his run.

Billy’s ocean of radness

The newest members to the Freestyle Now reserves squad Billy Brooks recently spent about two months away from his home in Mudgee. Most of the time he was rolling with Freestyle Now at various places around Australia. He also spent some time in the Gold Coast just chillin with friends and riding some. His latest video creation is full of random things from the trips he has been a part of and all the things that make BMX fun. Enjoy and stay rad.

Exhibition Wednesday Race Day

Freestyle Now recently attended the Exhibition Wednesday race day held at the Eagle Farm race course in Brisbane to throw down some seriously rad halfpipe shows. It is a public holiday on the Wednesday in Brisbane due to the Ekka (Brisbane show) so why not dress up and head to the races. With about 20000 people attending the Eagle Farm race day there was plenty of people to witness the halfpipe demos that Freestyle Now was hitting up along with music acts Ruby Rose and headliners Bombs Away. Freestyle Now squad members Shaun Jarvis and David Pinelli headed over to Brisbane for the halfpipe shows and invited skaters Pedro Day and Anthony Bull and bmxers Chris Courtenay and Chance Brejnakowski to come along to shred the ramp, get rad and have a blast. Getting rad in Port Hedland and Karratha

In June Freestyle Now headed to the North west towns of Port Hedland and Karratha to host some skatepark coaching sessions, competitions and most of all to have a heap of fun. With Freestyle Now squad members Shaun Jarvis, Billy Brooks and Phillip Marshall, the locals got to learn new tricks and skills, receive heaps of give-a-ways and they also had a heap of fun. Round 14 – Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series – Port Kennedy skatepark

The Port Kennedy skatepark was the location for the latest round of the Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series (F.N.W.A.S.S.) The day started with a lot of families coming out to show their support, always a good thing to see as there was a lot of younger competitors entered. The day rolled along really well with much fun being had bay all who attended on the day. Again a big thank you needs to go out to City of Rockingham the support and to our long time supporters Stowaway distribution, 4 skateboard co and Mutts scooters for the fantastic prizes.

Darwins a video

Freestyle Now headed up to Darwin to host a skatepark competition at the Palmerston skatepark in June. Freestyle Now squad member Shaun Jarvis and radster Billy Brooks spent a few days in Darwin riding, having fun and mixing it with the locals.

Round 14 – Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series

The next round of the Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series (F.N.W.A.S.S.) will take place at the Port Kennedy skatepark on the 13th of July. The competition registrations kick off at 10am with the skate, scooter and BMX competition getting underway at about 11am. The day should finish up at about 3pm, when the winners and non winners will be announced and prizes will be given out with thanks to our supporters Stowaway distribution, 4 skateboard co and Mutts scooters as well as the City of Rockingham. You can download an entry form here.
