Mandurah Action Sports Games Unleash Thrilling Competition at Mandurah Skatepark

The highly anticipated Mandurah Action Sports Games took the Mandurah skatepark by storm, showcasing the incredible talents of skateboarders, scooter riders, and BMX enthusiasts. Supported by Mandurah Mazda and Drug Aware, this exhilarating skatepark competition drew a diverse range of riders and solidified its place as a premier event in the action sports calendar. The competition demonstrated the commitment of both participants and sponsors in fostering a vibrant skatepark culture.

The Action Sports Games competition adopted an exciting format, with competitors showcasing their skills in both the small bowl on day one and the big bowl on day two. The best run from day one was combined with the best run from day two to determine the winners and place-getters, adding an extra layer of intensity and anticipation to the event.

Rollerskate made its debut at the Action Sports Games on Friday Night, highlighting the inclusive nature of the event. Sash Berg showcased remarkable skills and secured a well-deserved victory, signaling a promising future for rollerskating in the Action Sports Games. We look forward to increasing the participation number for the 2024 event.

BMX witnessed jaw-dropping stunts and intense battles for supremacy. Sam Grace stole the show with his audacious foot jam to fakie to fakie front flip in the deep bowl, pushing the boundaries of what was thought possible. Unfortunately, Dylan Schmidt’s exceptional riding was cut short by a heavy slam on the first day, forcing him to sit out on the second day. Nevertheless, his presence was sorely missed as his fearless style and technical prowess always electrify the competition. In the intermediate class Ronan McCamish displayed his signature riding style, soaring to incredible heights and maintaining an impeccable flow throughout his runs. His consistency and skill captivated both judges and spectators alike and propelled him into the first place. 

The BMX competition reached its climax with a thrilling finish that left everyone on the edge of their seats. Nathan Freeman and Sam Grace battled it out with relentless determination, leaving no room for error. When the dust settled, Freeman emerged victorious by the slimmest of margins, securing the top spot with just 0.66 points separating him from Grace. This exhilarating competition marked the beginning of the Western Australian BMX freestyle state championships, adding even more significance to the competition. Riders from across the state competed fiercely, aiming to secure their position as the top contenders in the championship series. Skateboarding saw a thrilling mix of talented men and women across all levels. Adam Pacynko, making his much-anticipated return from living in England, showcased his exceptional skills, reminding everyone of his prowess in the bowls. However, it was Cruz Evens who rose to the occasion, dominating the competition and claiming the coveted first-place prize. In the men’s under-13 category, Zen Evens demonstrated exceptional skill and secured a well-deserved win, showcasing tremendous potential for the future. The open women’s category witnessed a fierce battle between Mia Kretzer and Hailee Roberts, both of whom displayed rapid progression and showcased their immense talent.Either of them could have taken the win but it was Mia who came out in 1st place.

Emily Palmer brought their stoke to the Mandurah Action Sports Games had some rad front side grinds.

In the scooter category, Mitch Bacon took center stage in the open class, mesmerizing spectators with his powerful, fast, and high-flying combinations. Kash Toft gave a strong performance but had to settle for second place. The intermediate class showcased exceptional skills over the two days, with several competitors potentially making a move to the open class in 2024, further raising the bar for future competitions.

Freestyle Now Engages and Inspires Batlow with Thrilling Skatepark Session

Freestyle Now, Australia’s leading action sports entertainment company, recently embarked on an exciting journey to the picturesque town of Batlow in New South Wales. We had the privilege of conducting a skatepark engagement session filled with coaching, fun games, and an exhilarating BMX and scooter stunt show. The event, held in collaboration with Starting Fresh Batlow and Anglicare, was a resounding success that left the community buzzing with excitement. The small skatepark in Batlow became a hub of energy and creativity as Freestyle Now rolled into town with our portable ramps. The session kicked off with our experienced riders, Shaun Jarvis, Cooper Wilson, and Matty Ceravolo, providing coaching to riders of all skill levels. Our talented team shared their expertise, offering guidance and support to help participants progress their skills and build confidence on their skateboards, BMX bikes, and scooters. But the engagement session was not just about coaching; it was a celebration of action sports and community spirit. Fun games and challenges were organized, fostering a lively and inclusive atmosphere. Laughter and cheers filled the air as riders of all ages showcased their tricks and competed in friendly competitions.

The highlight of the day came with the BMX and scooter stunt show on our portable ramps. Spectators were treated to a jaw-dropping display of aerial acrobatics, high-speed maneuvers, and gravity-defying tricks. Freestyle Now, Australia’s premier action sports entertainment company, brought the heat to the Australian Open with an electrifying BMX stunt show. Despite the scorching temperatures, the large crowds gathered to witness our talented riders showcase their skills on the stage, leaving everyone in awe. With the blazing sun as our backdrop, our team embraced the challenge and delivered a sensational performance. The set up was tight but by utilizing our flipper kicker BMX jump in front of the small stage and taking the opportunity to showcase the artistry of BMX flatland on the stage Freestyle Now was able to deliver a spectacular performance. Our riders, renowned for their precision and creativity, wowed the audience with mind-bending tricks and flawless execution. The Australian Open proved to be the perfect platform for Freestyle Now to demonstrate our passion for action sports and engage with spectators of all ages. The enthusiastic response from the crowd was overwhelming, with cheers and applause filling the air throughout the entire show.

Thrilling Action Unleashed at Bridgetown Skatepark Competition

The Bridgetown skatepark recently transformed into a hotbed of adrenaline-fueled excitement as skateboarders, scooter riders, BMX enthusiasts, and rollerskaters converged for an exhilarating skatepark competition. Supported by Blackwood Youth Action, the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes, and the Paper Planes store, the event showcased the diverse talents of riders across various disciplines. The skatepark competition, which served as a hub for action sports aficionados, attracted participants and spectators from far and wide. Riders from all skill levels showcased their prowess and flair in a celebration of skateboarding, scootering, BMX riding, and rollerskating. Prior to the competition, participants had the opportunity to fine-tune their skills through dedicated skatepark coaching sessions. Leading up to the competition, passionate riders of all ages and skill levels gathered for skatepark coaching sessions at the Bridgetown skatepark. These sessions, designed to provide guidance, mentorship, and skill development, were led by experienced instructors from Freestyle Now. Participants received valuable tips and techniques, enhancing their abilities and boosting their confidence in preparation for the upcoming competition. The skatepark coaching sessions not only helped riders improve their skills but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and community among the participants. Novice riders had the chance to learn from seasoned athletes, creating a supportive and inclusive environment that epitomizes the spirit of action sports. As the coaching sessions concluded, the stage was set for the electrifying skatepark competition. The competition, held under the open sky, witnessed an impressive display of gravity-defying tricks and jaw-dropping maneuvers. Riders, fueled by their passion and the electric atmosphere, pushed the boundaries of their respective disciplines, mesmerizing the audience with their skills and creativity.

Bayswater skatepark competition – January 2023

Freestyle Now recently hosted the first full skatepark competition at the new City of Bayswater state-of-the-art skatepark. Skateboarders, BMX riders, scooter enthusiasts, and rollerskaters from all over the state gathered to showcase their skills and compete in the event, which was a major skatepark competition. The competition featured three categories, beginners, intermediate, and open, providing a platform for riders of all ages and skill levels to demonstrate their talents. The new skatepark’s challenging features, including the halfpipe, rails, and bowl, provided an exciting environment for the participants to showcase their unique styles and approaches. It was great to see the return of Adam Pacynko in the skateboard competition, after his time living in England. He amazed everyone with his incredible Halfpipe skills and unique style, demonstrating that he is still one of the top skateboarders in Western Australia. In their first skateboard competition, mother and son Laura and Ollie shared the skatepark for their beginner runs to help both ease the nervousness they were experiencing. Both skated really well and we were stoked to have them in the competition and making memories of their first competition. The competition was a great success and attracted a diverse group of riders, including a strong showing from the rollerskate community. The scooter enthusiasts, BMX riders, and skateboarders also put on a great display of skill and technique, showcasing the incredible talent and dedication of the competitors. Spectators cheered on the riders throughout the event, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere that added to the excitement of the competition. The first full skatepark competition at the new City of Bayswater skatepark was a great showcase of the thriving skatepark culture in Western Australia, and a testament to the importance of providing safe and welcoming spaces for riders of all disciplines to come together and share their passion for skating. Big thanks to the City of Bayswater for supporting the competition, we look forward to seeing what the future holds for the skatepark community in the area. Port Kennedy skatepark competition – January 2023

Freestyle Now hosted a skatepark competition at the Port Kennedy skatepark. The afternoon and early evening skatepark competition was well attended by both participants and families. Skatepark users from around the Perth metro area recently converged on the Port Kennedy skatepark for a highly anticipated skatepark competition. The event saw riders of all ages and skill levels compete for prizes, with participants showcasing their skills and pushing themselves to the limit. The Port Kennedy skatepark, which recently underwent a major renovation 18 months ago, provided the perfect venue for the competition, with its wide range of features and challenging obstacles providing a platform for riders to showcase their unique styles and approaches. The event attracted a large crowd of spectators, who cheered on the riders and provided an energetic and enthusiastic atmosphere throughout the competition. One of the highlights of the competition was the strong showing from female participants who all rolled with impressive skills. Some competitors were entering their first competition and were feeling nervous but the team from Freestyle Now helped many of them feel at ease so they were able to compete feeling relaxed. The event was a testament to the growing diversity and inclusivity of skatepark participants. Overall, the Port Kennedy skatepark competition was a huge success, and a great showcase of the skills skatepark users are building. The event highlighted the importance of promoting the sports and providing safe and welcoming spaces for riders of all ages and skill levels to come together and share their passion for skateboarding, scooters, rollerskates and BMX. Balga skatepark competition – January 2023

Freestyle Now hosted a skatepark competition at Balga skatepark. The skatepark competition catered for all skatepark users, scooter, skateboard, BMX and rollerskates. It was a radical day full of highly skilled riders showing their abilities. Lots of prizes were given out to the competitors with some competitors entering more than one discipline and winning more prizes. It was great to see an increasing number of female participants entering skatepark competitions and Balga was no exception. Freestyle Now extends our gratitude to the City of Stirling for their support, and invites everyone to check our coming events page for more information on future competitions and other events. BREMER BAY SKATEPARK COMPETITION – JANUARY 2023

Freestyle Now hosted a skatepark competition at Bremer Bay skatepark. Prior to the competition, Freestyle Now conducted a skatepark coaching session, where participants learned new skills and gained confidence in navigating the skatepark. They also received tips on how a skatepark competition is judged and how to plan their competition run. During the competition, many participants put this advice into practice, resulting in an exciting event well-attended by the town of Bremer Bay. All participants received prizes, regardless of their placing, and some even entered more than one discipline, earning them more prizes. Freestyle Now recently took center stage at the Perth Leisure Lifestyle Show, held on the Perth Esplanade, to deliver spectacular BMX stunt shows. With the iconic city of Perth as a backdrop, our riders wowed the audience with their high-energy performance and jaw-dropping stunts. The show featured some of the best riders from around Australia with each rider taking to the ramp to showcase their unique skills and expertise, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible on two wheels. The Perth Leisure Lifestyle Show was the perfect setting for our BMX stunt show, with its lively atmosphere and engaged audience and the City of Perth as a backdrop. The show not only entertained the crowds, but also provided an opportunity for us to promote the benefits of physical activity and inspire young riders to pursue their passion for action sports. The Perth Leisure Lifestyle Show was a great success, with attendees expressing their enthusiasm and excitement for the BMX stunt show.
